  • Haha, I wasn't trying to rub it in all. Merely pointing out how disappointed I was. We haven't managed to get to the beach once this summer! Today is cloudy, overcast with showers! :(

  • It was a public holiday here yesterday (just our region) but as we're a national call centre, I had the option of working for double time and a day in lieu. I didn't need asking twice. :D More for the extra leave than the money, although that will come in handy. I went into negative leave when I returned to the UK unexpected last year but with the day in lieu I now have 3 days in the bank. Not much, but a start.

I came out of work today, walked to my car and pressed the central locking, nothing happened. I thought, not again. Mr BoF left the lights on before Christmas and I had a flat battery. I remembered turning the lights off this morning so couldn't understand it. Then I realised, I was trying to open the door to the wrong car! It was a Mazda and silver, like mine and only 3 spaces away from mine. I got a very strange look from one lady when I walked away from the car to mine!. Trust me.:rotfl::rotfl:

  • It's been a stressful couple of days in the BoF house. Both DS's started back at school. DS1 went straight to leadership camp overnight.

I was looking forward to a relaxing night but when I Skpyed my dad last night, I didn't get to speak with him but my uncle who informed me dad was in hospital. Even tnough he told me not to worry he didn't think it was anything serious, I couldn't help but worry. Thankfully he's back home now but they are doing some tests. Apparently it may be something called Diverticulitus.

On a brighter note, it looks like i'm starting my new shift on Monday.

On an MSE note, i've done a price comparison for our power supplier and looks like i'll be changing supplier. The new supplier claims to be able to save us $600 per year. Even if it's only half that it'll still be worth it.

  • I'm feeling really tired today. Probably to do with the change in routine, I started my new shift yesterday. 7:00 - 3:30. :j

Unfortunately though, I haven't managed to get to the gym for the past two evenings. My foot is really sore and painful, feels like it has a big bruise underneath but there's nothing to see. :(

Mr BoF is away in Ashburton (South Island of NZ near Christchurch) with work until tomorrow evening. So it's just me and DS's. Speaking of which, DS1 resigned from his part time job at a fast food restaurant. The training was practically zero and the managers were constantly telling him different things. What with him having Aspergers it was too confusing for him and causing him to have upset stomachs. Not good for his first foray into the workforce.

Both boys started back at school yesterday and seem to like the teachers they have for this year which is good.

On the debt busting side of things, our boarder's fiance is moving in, in a few weeks. She practically lives here anyway and hopefully will be a good influence on him (e.g. keep his room tidier). They're going to be paying more, which means we should be able to save more to pay off our big debt at the end of the year.

  • Thanks brizzle and granny. DS1 has picked up some appliction forms for a couple of the local supermarkets. Apparently they recruit at this time of year. So fingers crossed.

It's a public holiday today (Waitangi Day) and Mr BoF is home, so just going to relax i think and maybe do some crocheting.

  • Where have the past few days gone?

Friday night me and Mr BoF went to a leaving do to say goodbye to a friend who is moving to Hawaii. He's the inspiration and one of the founding members of our Aspergers Support group.

Saturday me and some of my team at work attended the wedding of a work mate. It was a stonking hot day with 90% humidity. In spite of this, the bridge and groom looked amazing. The bridge wore a simple dress (it was her mum's dress) which was a silk dress with a beautiful macrame overlay. :happyhear Very simple and stylish. This was followed by tea on the lawn with croquet and badminton. It was far too hot for anyone to play the games.

Yesterday I visited the doctor's as the pain in my foot still has not gone away. No formal diagnosis was made. It could be muscular or due to arthritis or gout or some such other ailment. So, I've had blood tests done for all the usual things and will await the results in a couple of days.

This evening I have updated the budget for the next month and balanced all the books. The next fortnight is a little tight as we've had to spend extra on school trousers for DS1, as he can't find the new ones we bought him last year and buy some textbooks.
