Just a quick update tonight. Been back at work for two days. It was weird going back after two weeks off. Took me a couple of hours to get back into the swing of things and now it's like I was never on leave.
May have another plumbing issue. Our boarder has advised he thinks there is a leak somewhere as the bottom of the vanity is cracking and going black. Wonder how long it's been like that as it doesn't go black overnight!Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Unfortunately it would seem the plumbing issue is another major job.
This time an insurance claim is required, although there is still an excess of $700. It seems as though the new vanity that was fitted last year has been leaking steadily for months. It has now soaked the floor and cause the vinyl (lino) to bubble. Plumber has advised we will probably need to replace the flooring, vinyl and new vanity - in addition to getting the leak fixed. It never rains but it pours... pun intended.
So much for paying off my car at the end of this month. I guess that is going to have to wait a little while longer.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Forgive me for I have sinned. It's been 7 months since my last post!
Things have been ticking along but not quickly enough for me. So, inspired by the update from HappyNow today, I've decided to start posting again. Maybe not every day but enough to get me truly motivated.
I've spent the last couple of days in front of the computer preparing my budget for the next few months, whilst drinking several of these :coffee: setting goals for paying off debts but also for saving a little too.
I know some of you would say I should pay debts before saving and I would usually agree. However, back in late Sept I had to make an unplanned trip back to the UK for my gran's funeral and had to pop it on the credit card. Fortunately I've managed to repay this now without paying any interest but it's been a hard 3 months.
Rather than bore you with what has happened in the last few months, I'm just starting again from today. I have updated my signature and proud to announce (not including the mortgage) I have paid a whopping 70% of my other debt. This is incentive enough for me to pay the outstanding 30%.
I hope to see some old friends and gain some new ones as my journey continues.
