  • Thanks Piq. I've been away far too long and was starting to lose my mojo a little. It's all too easy to fall back into bad habits. I could see things sliding a little in terms of how much we are paying off our debts each month. Don't get me wrong, we have still been paying small amounts of each month but we can do better.

It's been a NSD today. I could quite easily have gone to the takeaway for dinner tonight but was very good and scrambled something together that everyone was happy with.

Off to hit the hay now as I'm struggling to keep my eyes open. It's been a very long, busy week. Thank goodness it's the weekend!

Thats a stonking total!! Well done. :T

Great to see you posting again..you have been missed. I do agree, not posting regularly makes all of us lose our debt busting mojo...and its that goal of lots of tiny improvements that makes the debt really go down fast.

Will PM you when I have that conversation with myself again..it really is a wonderful place for a family adventure:D

  • Thanks brizzle. It's good to be posting again.

Today has been a fairly quiet one. Grocery shopping and housework mainly. Mr F and I did go and buy some nice timber for our hallway. A few months ago we knocked down a brick wall and that has left a gap. We've been trying to decide what to do about it and have finally reached the decision that we would make a feature of it with some nice wood. Bought the timber for a location demolition traders yard. Now just need Mr F to fix it to the wall and put some paint or stain on it.

Mr F is fixing is up a feat tonight. Poppadums, bhajis and a nice chicken curry with naan bread. It smells delicious, I can't wait to tuck in.

  • It was delicious and very filling. Enjoyed a bottle of beer with it too.

Just read my earlier post back... my typing and spelling was terrible. :o

  • So today Mr F and I were going to the one day international cricket test between England and NZ Black Caps. Well, when I got up this morning I wasn't really in the mood to go, so Mr F has gone by himself. He'll probably enjoy it more that way.

I was however in the mood to finally open an Etsy shop. Something I have been meaning to do for ages but never got around to. It is now done. :D Only 7 items in my shop at the moment but it's a start.

I've been trying to get my MSE mojo back and writing in my diary is just one of the things I'm doing. I've also started reading an e-book about ways to make/save money. I'm not sure it will tell me anything I don't already know but it might help to get me motivated. :)

  • Phew that was a busy day. We're not even in the busy season yet, so dread to think what it will be like when it is. It doesn't help that we're really short staffed at the moment. Big recruitment drive currently underway.

I had a strange request for someof my crochet today. A boob beanie. Just google them, pretty cool. I hadn't heard of them until today, but believe they are quite the thing for breast feeding mums. :D Will definitely have to give them a go.

Mr F's car is going for it's warrant tomorrow. Fingers crossed it doesn't cost too much.

  • Woohoo! Mr F's car got this the warrant without needing any work done. It cost the princely sum of $46. So the money I have been putting into the pot for this can stay there for next month when Mr F's licence is due. :j

It's been a good day today. Work was steady, the sun was shining and I got all my breaks on time. Had a bit of a hiccup at the end of the day when I couldn't get a signal on my mobile phone and didn't know whether I was picking DS1 up from his maths tutorial. Fortunately it's not too far from work so I just drove by to see if he was there. He wasn't. He had decided to catch the bus as he finished early. Ho hum.

Now that my etsy shop is open, I have set myself a goal of adding one new item a day for the first 2-3 weeks. I now have 9 items listed, with more to add. I'm looking forward to making my first sale.

The weather is so hot and humid at the moment, it's really hard to sleep. We dont' have aircon just a fan blowing the hot air around the rooms. Anyway, on that note, time for bed.... assuming I can sleep.

    Night all. x
