It is. I really thought it was going to cost us $200-$300, so I'm not complaining.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Just a quick post tonight as I can barely keep my eyes open.
Wednesday is my night for Skyping dad but just recently we seem to be having lots of problems with the internet connection between us. Tonight we spent the best part of 20 mins being connected/disconnected, being told the internet connection was fast one minute and being kicked off the next due to a poor connection. :argh: Couldn't win, so went back to calling on the telephone. Not quite the same as seeing him but at least we still got to talk.
Listed another item tonight on Etsy and have just finished a pair of shoes. I still need to decide whether I'm going to add a decoration on to them. They're plain white so was thinking about adding a small pink rose on them. Hhm, will ponder that one a bit more.
Made a stop at the supermarket on the way home from work as we needed milk and cereal. Ended up buying some bread for the freezer as it was knocked down in price.
Anytime, i'm struggling to keep my eyes open, so I'm off to bed.
Night all. xDiary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

I had quite a good day today despite having a frustrating start. They have been building a new ring road around Hamilton for the past couple of years but annoyingly, now they are getting close to finishing there are lane closures all over the place. My usual 15-20 min journey into work is now taking anywhere between 30-50 mins. It's getting hard to judge which is the best way to get to work and typically I drive from one end of Hamilton to the other to it's difficult to avoid them without going miles out of my way. This morning I made it to work with about 3 mins to spare. This frustrates the hell out of me because (a) I don't like being late for work (b) if I am late for work it goes against our stats and (c) as I am on the phones all day when I sit down at my desk I like to be prepared.
To add to my frustration when I took my first call this morning my headset wasn't working but I didn't know this until I took my first call.
My manager was so good, asking how he could help to start my day off better and helping me make sure I had my water bottle and my usual cup of coffee. He even went so far as to check out alternative routes for me to come into work.
Anyway, after this morning little hiccup my day improved. I got some lovely feedback from one of our support reps about my phone manner, level of knowledge and willingness to help. It really made my day.:D
I arrived home and Mr F had made a lovely nasi goreng for dinner, which by the way, was yummy. We have enough left over to pop in a wrap for lunch tomorrow. Anyway, I am away to watch Bones while partaking of a nice glass of Cab Sav. :beer:Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Sorry I haven't been around for the last couple of days. Yesterday we went to a free concert as part of Hamilton's Garden & Arts festival. There were 3 local bands and Avalanche City. One of the bands were Sound the Ocean and is made up of 7 music teachers, all from DS1 and DS2's school. I have to say they were far and away the best and I wanted to listen to them more than the main act.
I'm not feeling the best today, have the sniffles and a sore throat. Plus it's been 29-30 degrees for most of the day so I'm shattered. I managed to give the kitchen a really good clean, I think I was trying to con my body into thinking I was feeling okay. Have fallen asleep twice during the day when I sat down with a cuppa. So am going to make it an early night and read my book in bed. Hopefully I will feel much better after a good night's sleep, if I can get one in this heat.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Feeling much better today. Still got a tickly nose and sore throat but no headache so that's good. Work went so quickly today as it was really busy. I was awarded a $10 voucher for the work cafe today as i received 2 lots of really lovely, positive feedback about my work from 2 colleagues. Totally unexpected.
I received a request from a friend's pregnant daughter to crochet a boobie beanie for her. If you don't know what they are just google one. I've finished it so fingers crossed she likes it. My current project is an owl hat. Quite pleased with what i've done so far.
Must go now as Ds1 is waiting for me to cut his hair.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Thanks brizzle. Hopefully the traffic situation will be sorted by mid March when the roadworks are due to be completed!
It's horrible having a bit of a cold when it's 29 degrees outside! I can't believe it will be even hotter tomorrow. We've barely had any rain this month (about 22mm) I think and are now on a hosepipe ban.
I've put in a request to change my hours at work as there are a couple of other shifts available. Of course, I'm probably not the only one putting my hand up to change but they do take other thins into consideration like length of service, punctuality, reliability, whether you can car share etc. I'm hoping that at the very least I'll move to a shift that starts 30 mins either side of Mr F's shifts starting, as then we can care share and save approx $200 per month on fuel. That would be fantastic and we can share the driving too, which would be great.
Fingers crossed.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

I'm stoked. I have been given a new shift at work. Not the one I wanted but it does mean that Mr F and me can car share. :j That also means we should save about $150 per month on fuel. :j:j Plus I get to be home earlier which gives me more time at home. :j:j:j Win win all round.
This week is turning into once of the best I've had at work. I'm really loving life at the moment.
I've managed to have 3 NSD this week, which is always a bonus. Will have to spend tomorrow though as need some milk and cash for the boys school bus fares.
I had a good Skype conversation with my dad too; although the Skype connection recently has been pretty dire and so we usually end up with one or the other of us turning off our video. At least we do still get to talk and see each other once a week though.
Just wondering if anyone can answer a couple of bank questions for me? How much does the bank charge to stop a cheque? How much do they charge to do a BACS Transfer?
My dad sent me a cheque to my UK bank account but it's been about 10 days and so far it hasn't turned up in our account.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All
