Conquering Debts Once and For All...

I think that's why we've waited so long. We bought several tester pots before we chose. Wouldn't want to spend all that money on the wrong colour!
I've also ordered our new duvet cover today. These are not cheap either (not for a good one) but because we're members of a wholesale shopping club it's costing us $190 instead of $300; and don't get me started on curtains.
Bit of a long day today with a 1½ hour drive each end (although for once I wasn't the one doing the driving). My helper needed to pick some pallets up to make into houses for his goats so we took his van and almost had an accident when an idiot of a driver pulled straight out in front of us, without looking and then looked amazed when we tooted our horn at him! Then on the way home a bus pulled out in front of us and then waved to apologize...(the driver not the bus) :rotfl: like that's really going to help!
I was going to say it was a NSD but we got a takeaway for dinner. We had forgotten to get something out of the freezer, not very MSE I know, but it went down well.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Mrs F,
How you doing ? Sorry I havent been around especially when you have had so much going on.
Glad you are getting around to doing your bedroom, I bought DD2 a new duvet set the other day. It was reduced from £70 to £19.99 and looks beautiful, her other one had holes in, it had been eaten by the old washing machine before it finally gave up the ghost , and I kept promising her a replacement !! She is pleased as punch with it.
I think Mrs B has hit on an amazing idea re the paint manufacturing !!!LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

It's been a lovely sunny day today with clear blue skies but very cold first thing. It's definitely cooling down in the evening too... it was only 1 degree overnight! So far we've managed to not put the fire on. Just keep adding on the layers.
I find as long as my feet are warm the rest of me is fine.
Had to go for a bit of a drive today to collect my handbag! I left it in the back of the van yesterday. D'oh! Another NSD though, can't spend when you don't have a purse! :rotfl:
Dinner was chicken casserole and very nice it was too. As it's getting colder it must be time to start using the slow cooker more.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

No long weekend here in NZ for us,
however we get a day off at the beginning of June for the Queen's birthday. Yeah, that's right, NZ celebrates it but not the UK. Funny huh?
We managed to get a little more painting done yesterday but it's hard going as we're still sleeping in the room, so constantly have to move furniture around! More of the same today.
Last night we went to a graduation come birthday party for a friend of ours. It's the first night out that Mr F and I have had in ages... maybe even this year. We didn't know many people but had a really good time. I think Mr F was ever so slightly tipsy.
May is starting off well, with another two NSD's under my belt. Maybe I should start putting them in my signature?Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Hi Mrs Box...good to hear about your goings on, the home stuff sounds fab and you always write about food which I love!
Yes do write your NSDs in your sig. I have joined the monthly challenge on here too. Did 6/10 last month but so far am failing this month. Not one yet. Thought I had bagged one yesterday but then OH spent £2.70 on fixings so we could get £31 on EBay for a bed. Now I know that makes sense but I was a bit cross he hadn't bought them the day before!! Odd ain't I??!:rotfl:
Have a great day. We will be skyping NZ this weekend all being well..so will send you thoughts as I make contact with Christchurch!MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Busy week this week so just a quick post tonight. Another two NSD's under my belt but that's probably it for this week. Going to the movie's tomorrow night to see the Avengers. Mr F has got tickets through his work, so reasonably priced. They even give us vouchers for discounted snacks, although not sure we'll use them.
Mr F made a lovely spag bol for dinner. Yummo.
Oh and I think I'll be joining Pinot in the dishwashing stakes. Looks like our dishwasher has packed in. Doesn't seem to be filling up with water, so will probably need to get a man in.... joy!Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Heu Fluffies, finally finding a bit of time to catch up on the diaries. Hope the painting is going OK. Blimey paint IS dear stuff over there! Bet you need a few coats too to cover up maroon.......
I'm pleased you enjoyed your night out with Mr Fluffies. We had one a couple of weeks ago and like you it was the first of the year! Ah well, it makes us appreciate it all the more.LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

Another quick post tonight as I'm absolutely shattered. Was hoping for a NSD today but bought myself a latte at lunch time as we had to go in search of a toilet at lunch time. The site were cleaning at didn't have any loos installed and no portaloo. Not that I like using them, especially when I'm usually the only female around and we all know men can never hit the pot. :rotfl:
We went to see The Avengers movie tonight, having bought tickets last week through Mr F's work. It must have been good because I stayed awake (I did warn Mr F to wake me up if I started snoring):rotfl: and it made me forget about my knee. Just as we were heading out the door, I caught my foot on the door mat and fell down hard on my left knee.
It's still sore now but hopefully a good night's sleep will help.

I can't believe it's been so long since my last post!
This one's going to be a long post so apologies in advance.
We've finally finished painting our bedroom. It's taken far too long mainly because we've had to do it on weekends but had to work one of the weekends as we had a big job to finish! It's all done now and it looks great.
May has so far been a month of unexpected spends for us.What with the decorating and new duvet covers but also because we've had to buy a new second hand oven as ours finally packed in last week. We were looking at new ovens as most were over $2000  but in the end we managed to buy one only 5 years old from Trade Me. We still need to pay it to have it fitted so we're not sure of the final cost as yet but likely to be somewhere in the region of $400.
Along with our dishwasher that stopped working a couple of weeks ago, our garage door has stopped working via the remote and it's so heavy that we can't open it without! It took Mr F and 3 teenage boys to open it far enough for me to drive Mr F's car out! So it's now sitting on the drive.
To add insult to injury, I was having a particularly bad day on Saturday and was fuming over an email, feeling tired and stressed, and not being used to Mr F's car on the driveway I reversed my car into his! Fortunately there are only minor scratches to both cars!
Then yesterday, I moved my car to allow the delivery driver enough room to get in to deliver the oven that when I opened the driver's door later in the day, I was higher up (standing on the grass verge) than usual, got distracted and hit my head with the corner of the car door! How stupid am I??? I gave myself a cracking lump just above my eye and a stonking great headache. Good thing my job for today has been moved to next week. :rotfl:
Anyway, that's enough of the doom and gloom and onto more positive things.
My dad is reconsidering his decision not to visit NZ again and is looking at coming again next year. :T He's feeling much better in himself after a recent visit to the hospital where they discovered he has a hernia (which for the moment has righted itself). He now knows what is wrong with him and it's not in his head.
Mr F is now settled back into his old job and is much happier, plus with the reduction in pension contributions, we are actually slightly better off that we were. We'll keep paying the same level of contributions until we get rid of the cc and then we can increase it again.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Ah there you are! We'd been wondering what had happened to you. Quite a lot by the sound of it, and not all good stuff! Hope the head and the knee are better.
I'm really pleased your dad has changed his mind about visiting you, that will be such a lift for you both. Lovely too that Mr F is happy in his old job. Imagine, you're actually better off after all that worrying!LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!
