Cake looks fab, am not surprised it was devoured!
I LURVE lemon drizzle cake. Haven't made for ages..may now have to make one this week!!!
Have a great week
Brizzle
Brizzle I haven't made the lemon drizzle cake in a while. Lemons seem to be quite expensive at the moment so I'm waiting for the lemons on my tree before I make another one! By the time they do, I'll have way too many and won't know what to do with them all.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

I wish I knew the answer Pinot. I just know, I find it incredibly easy to make and everyone loves it!But....although reported on my diary....the lemon drizzle cake was a huge success ( with an extra lemon in our case !) I had no idea what I was doing to be honest, as although I had a loaf tin I dont know how big it is, so it was a big of guess work, but its lovely, and I used my lovely new juicer that I recieved as an early birthday pressie to squeeze the lemons ! Acutally DD2 and I fought over it, so we squeezed one lemon each !
Congratulations on the new juicer, two lemons, fab! I bet it was delish.Mrs B, I havent made it over to your diary yet, so I am hijacking here, but if you read this, I hope you have had a lovely day with OH and the Girls back home !!!
I don't mind you hijacking my diary.I'm with you on this and hope Mrs B has had a wonderful day.

I'm very pleased with myself. I've managed to clear cc1 with the 19.45% interest rate. :T So, signature has been updated. I've now paid off almost 1% of our total debt (.099%). I thought it might be slightly higher but I'm still chuffed to bits.
:D
I've spent most of today updating our budget and am quite pleased with it. It's not the final one as there are some changes this month and next to Mr F's salary and so I'll have to tweak it; but it looks workable. I've now included 'pots' for household and garden maintenance, emergency fund, Christmas and birthdays and a very small entertainment pot.
I haven't had a chance to catch up on all the diaries today but hopefully later tonight I'll get a chance, if not it'll have to be tomorrow.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

More good news. We've been approved for a cc with only 2.99% interest. There don't appear to be any 0% ones out there. It's only for 12 months but we'll take it! The lowest our current bank could offer was 12% so that's a whopping 9% difference.
If I've worked it out correctly, that should save us over $500 in interest in the next 12 months.
Got a call from one of my regular customers (makes me sound like some kind of working girl, if you catch my drift);) to do a bit of reclean at a house I originally cleaned in August. They'd carried out some further work on the property so it needed a bit of a spruce up.
I really enjoyed myself. The owner was from Coventry and we had a lovely long chat while I was cleaning and can you believe, we had a friend in common. She even gave me half a dozen eggs that her chooks had laid. Bargain!
Another NSD today, my 3rd for the week!Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Hello Mrs F
I hope it's okay, I've invited myself to your diary. I like it here! I will be one of those guests who doesn't leave no matter how many hints you drop, sorry about that!
You look to be doing really well, in that you've focused and made some realistic changes and paid off some of the debt to boot. I'm looking forward to reading about how the debt reduces and learning new cake recipes....

Hi Piq and welcome to the mad house!
I'm feeling really positive at the moment and more in control, less panicky if something unexpected pops up. It helps that Mr F is on board too.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Feeling positive and wanting to clear the debts is key I think. A bit like giving up smoking, you have to be mentally on board or it's not going to happen. I think of few of us have had false starts. The support on the diaries is also important to me. I've had so much advice, all of which is good. I also like spending time on the diaries seeing how people are doing, I can spend quite a lot of time some days...:o but, I'm not spending money whilst doing it!
Thanks for the welcome, when do I get cake?

Just a short post tonight, I'm tired and about to head off to bed.
Have sorted the new cc and the balance has already been transferred to the new low interest card. I even managed to pay an extra $50 off the balance. :j
An excellent gc shop this week, managing to save $20 on the usual spend. After all this talk of lemon drizzle cake, I caved in and bought a lemon from the sm, so guess what I'll be baking tomorrow? :rotfl:Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All
