OS Diary, Saturday 10th Feb 07

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 10th Feb 07. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning everyone
I hope everyone is well today - big apologies, but I've not been very good at keeping up with the daily this past while and am a bit out of it with whatever is going on in peoples lives.
There is absolutely no snow where I am in N.Ireland, but have to admit that I am not in the slightest bit jealous! We had a smattering one day way back in November, that was plenty for one winter.
It's the Old Style informal meet today....I hope you all have a fantastic time, and please give AussieLass a big hug from me! Shame I can't be there, but that's life as they say.
Have a fab day everyone.

Morning everyone,
You must be soooo excited AMIE399! I am meant to be going up to yorkshire today to visit my mum and dad, but not sure if the weather will allow. We have lots of soggy snow in the midlands now. Don't think it will last much longer.
Have a good day everyone

Morning Snowyowl, amie399, bellsbells, and all who follow and/or cross
Wet but clear here bellsbells so don't think travel will be a real problem.
Good wishes to the meet today, raise a glass for me. Fancy ordering this weather for Aussielass's arrival.
Just think Lorraine when you come back from the States you can hide your OS pressies in the suitcases.:rotfl: :rotfl:
Trying to decide what not to do today, having a ride to Nottingham to take DS back, so that will take 2.5 hours out of the day, and must start on the paperwork filing. Consider menu later. Not very OS today is it!
Have a good day.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Morning folks
Hope everyone going on the meet has a fab time
We have had a small dusting of snow overnight. In fact there is so little there I don't even know if it constitutes snow :rotfl:
Last night hubby and I went out for dinner. There is an Indian restaurant near us that just before Christmas were giving out 50% off vouchers to use in Jan and Feb (probably when trade dulls a bit). So a fab meal and drinks for £19.
Off to work in a mo. I work for a bank and they have started this thing for security in that we are not allowed any paper now and anything that has to be written down goes on a whiteboard. The problem I have is that I am so keen to clean my whiteboard to avoid getting covered in ink I wipe off important information before I have used it
No plans as yet for rest of the day.
Bye for now0 -
Morning all. Especially to AMIE. Green with envy!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope to book something up for Christmas, but that seems a long way off!
Day off today. Nothing to do either. I am out tonight as my OH is singing in a Christian band, so that should be a good evening. But today, I think I would like to go spend some birthday money. The fishing season starts soon and I want to get some new tackle.
Appart from that I really don;t know what to do. I mean I live in a nice part of Cornwall, 2 miles from the Eden project, but I still get bored.
I did get my new W850i phone yesterday, I might play with that some and get some music on it.
Well folks have a nice day....NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
havent looked out the window yet but can hear the rain on the glass and the wind is howling.
had planned a day at the shops spending ms dogrose's birthday money. will see what happens.
plan to spend the day doing nothing else. after my exam yesterday I just need a "me" day before I start the other courses.
might pop to pub later to BIL birthday drinks party.x x x0 -

morning all, I had a terrible nights sleep and have lay there for ages before finally dragging myself out of bed. I have been worrying about my friend. Its a week today since she lost her DH. I can't stop thinking about her and her children. I was meant to visit tomorrow but when we spoke on Thurs she asked if I would mind coming sometime after the funeral as she has family over. Of course I don't mind and will do that. But I must phone her again today, if she wants to talk. The anniversary day must be really difficult.
Anyhow guys, the snow is going slushy, one of my cats couldn't wait to get out, the other is a homegirl and snuggled on the settee. I am surprised how much they like playing in the snow though. My kids have had a field day with it, now it looks like it is going, and I didn't take one photo!!
My eldest DD seemed to come down with that virus properly yesterday, spent most of the day in bed with a temperature of over 100 and the usual, headache, feeling sick, stomach ache and sore throat. Weird virus! but she seems cooler today, I'm pleased to say.
Anyway guys I'm off to tidy in a moment, gonna get loads done this week (I hope) and I am going to try to paint DD's room (with my mixed paint creation that I made a few weeks ago!!)
Take care all and see you later.
(((hugs))) to anyone who needs or wants one.

Morning guys
Sad news at Chez Shez.....little b-ggrs came back last nite and broke into my car!!!! didnt think it too bad at first thought it was only a broken quarterlight window -BUT they did get inside, smashed all the steering column in an attempt to Hotwire the car!!! So thats gonna cost god knows how much to fix, plus I cant use it!
If you remember I put in my post yesterday that DS1 heard someone trying one of the cars. My instincts said to me me it was my car (dont know why but have been warned of a theft of somesorts - but just assumed it would be the house!) but seeing as ive got the oldest car in the street, i thought they would have stolen something much better thats aroundits only a little fiesta, but im quite sad that someone wanted to pinch it after all these years!
Plus is raining!!! have shoved a plastic bag in the window for time being. Plus its the side that DD carseat is - so theres probably loads of bitsof glass!!!
which always keep appearing for weeks on end dont they? even though you hoover!
Oh well, I must have done something wrong (Karma) for this to happen!
Dont know whether I will make the meet today, depending on how long it takes to sort the car out so its secure enough for them not to come back and have another go.
If I dont manage it, hope everyone has a great time at the meet!!
(sorryfor the off-post today:o )0 -
Morning all.
Iv just looked out the window and its started to rain so the good 3-4" of snow we had yesterday has gone abit slushy. And its flipping freezing.
