Hi everyone.
Have a great time at the meet!
Well I still sound like Barry White's little sister with my deep, gruff voice, but I've been taking Buttercup Syrup which taste horrible but does seem to be helping.
The plans today are WM on, TD on (as it's raining here), DD1 at orchestra then over to MIL's to cook a roast for DH's birthday. His birthday is on Monday but he's away then so we're celebrating it all over the weekend instead.
Have a great day.0 -
Have written up a chapter of my book, just made OH his breakfast and will now commence the ironing. I'e taken the mince out of the freezer for tonight as well.We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0

well guys you wont believe this went down to the launderette to do drying etc and there were police everywhere an ambulance and mobile police station someone is being held at gunpoint in one of the nearby flats  which just goes to show you are not safe anywhere we live in a smallish town anyhoo it has been on the news so will wait to see what happens0

If you're organising a party PP, count me in - what would you like me to bring? :rotfl:
Afternoon all,
*hugs* to shez - hope your insurance doesn't get hit too hard with the repairs: it's horrible when that happens
It's been stormy here all night (and most of the morning) - no snow, but a lot of rain! the wind was howling round the house most of the night! I just hope it gets a bit milder so it doesn't all ice over again: I had a bit of a 'slide' in the car on my way into work yesterday morning which wasn't fun  they grit the main roads near us, but not the ones going through the housing developments which is ridiculous seeing as there are a good 500 houses on our stretch of the road alone, and the town bus goes right past us all so it should be done. It's not fun living at the bottom of 2 hills in this weather!
Plans for today: I need to go to the post office to pick up a parcel for OH, then will probably get some cleaning and cooking done. Found a box of chocolate brownie mix in the back of the cupboard (don't shoot me!)so I may use that up at some point today. Think it will be soup for lunch, not sure what tea will be yet. Then this evening have dancing on ice and the variety show program on BBC to watch, so will settle down with a drink
Hope the meet goes well today - I hope you've all exchanged 'real' names as I've had a vision of you all sitting in the corner of a pub and shouting your MSE names across the room as people come in - could get some funny looks :rotfl:
*hugs* to all, take or leave as you please, and have a good day everyone.0 -
Hi OS people.
Oh hell, I need help! Hope you don't mind me gatecrashing your thread.
Late December/all of January were awful and I didn't have a minute to myself. In a nutshell, I've had a bereavement, exams, job ending, finding a new job, reduced wages, mountains of legal paperwork to get through (and the rest, which I won't bore you with!)....
The result? I've let the state of my flat slide - and how! This is only the second weekend I've had to myself this year (and the last one got hijacked!) so I really need to do something but I just don't know where to start! Does anyone know what I mean? Everywhere I look is chaotic and I'm overwhelmed.
Question - where should I start? As a clue, everything needs doing and I aim to do it today (small flat, thankfully).
I feel pathetic asking for help with housework.
Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone!
Gosh it's been crazy the past few days.
Had a really nice training day yesterday and helped myself to lots of yummy *free* foodWhen I got home, I thought my trousers would pop! Then we had Chinese food... so I was fit to pop even more!!
Stupid 'Home Delivery Service' have failed to deliver my package *twice* now... they are saying that they 'attempted delivery' on both Thurs and Fri but got no answer.... what liars!! I was off work on Thurs and in all day... nothing. OH was off work yesterday and was in all day.... nothing. Ugh! So I called Dorothy Perkins this morning and they have made a formal complaint and marked my package as urgent!!
Having a relaxing one this afternoon, prob will write a letter or two, and watch some of my Full House DVDs, then I need top start getting ready for the wedding reception we are going to tonight! Won't leave it too late.... some buffet, a couple of dances and lime sodas and then I'll be driving back
No work tomorrow so will do a bit of cleaning, make a nice breakfast (waffles and bacon I think!) and cook a nice dinner. Am so glad that it's the half term! Lots to do though, esp on Tuesday... we are getting our pup 'decaffeinated' and I also have counselling. I will try and pop into the hairdressers whilst I'm in town then to see what they can do with this mop of mine (it's looking pretty scruffy), have a nose around the shops and visit the butchers.
*hugs* for those who need them.... I'm now off to catch up on todays thread, reply to LJ comments, read yesterdays thread... and then relax!
