"Make" Meatloaf (as in the singer!). Slightly worried as my mind went in the same direction!!
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

1lb is roughly equal to 454g, and mince usually comes in 450g packs, so if a recipe asks for 1lb of mince then you want one standard size pack.

The Cajun Meatloaf from the Pioneer Woman is good, but you need to fiddle with the quantities as the recipe makes a huge meatloaf.

The best way to make meatloaf is to heavily season and have some wet ingredients so it doesn't dry out.

Use ketchup inside the mixture (I know this seems wierd but it makes an amazing difference)

Wrap in bacon or parma ham.

At the end of the day its just:
    ground beef
egg and BIT of flour to bind
    thyme
    salt and pepper
    worsecter sauce
    ketchup
    mustard powder
(possibly cooked onions if you like this)

If you don't like to wrap your meatloaf consider a glaze like brown sugar.

Buy a standard pack of mince (450gms) and use it all - there's no hard and fast rules for amounts with my recipes lol. Same with the Paxo - it's a standard size pack (I think they sell big ones at Christmas but not usually the rest of the year).

I agree with the other poster about it needing seasoning - add some Worcester sauce if you like it, it gives a bit of a kick and helps moisten it. Another thing I've done in the past is squash down the contents of a tin of baked beans and added that, it makes for a lovely moist meatloaf with a nice flavour.

Glad I'm not the only one who didn't get the joke :rotfl: (bit dense I'm afraid)

I like hiding things in my meatloaf, like hard boiled eggs, sausages or different types of cheese. mmm Yummy
