How old were you when you went to your first gig.

Toyah Wilcox in Dublin, I was 17. I was soo impressed - I think it's the first time I'd ever seen lasers:o.
My daughters travelled 220+ miles to see The Script and Tiny Tempah last year. Five 16-18 year old girls organized buses, trains, trams, tickets, hostels and taxis all by themselves. They made a weekend of it and had an itinerary planned, got everything done that they wanted to, had no problems whatsoever.
I hope your son has a blast, OP! It's the stuff memories are made of.I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Well so far so good, he's posted on his facebook about who has played who is next ect...
so i reminded him to be aware of the times for his transport.
then one of his friends came on and asked had he been stabbed yet...:eek::eek:
I was doing so well all evening until his dopey friend made that comment.0 -
I was 10 years old when I went to my first gig...probably old in todays standards considering the number of children I have seen at Glastonbury.
I saw Chicago in 1973 in Vegas, the music was so loud I could not hear for nearly 2 hours after the concert, I can still see Peter Cetera in his baby blue suit.
It was fantastic...........:rotfl:0 -

I was 17 (I think), went to see Reef in Newport :T Our mates dad drove us all then wandered around till we came out. I remember taking a small plastic bottle of water in with me and being outraged when it got confiscated!!! :rotfl:
The following year my mates dad drove again, but this time he hired out a mini-bus and a larger group of us went to see Foo Fighters. My friend, her boyfriend, and his mates, who were all the cool rock kids at school, and then meek little me haha. Outraged again when they wanted to borrow my black lipstick and they wasted it down by doing makeup on themselves like The Crow :rotfl:Travis supported them (happy poppy Travis before they became Man Who Travis) and pretty much got heckled off the stage.
Also saw Bush there (supported by Symposium if anyone remembers them), got kicked in the head by a crowd surfer, so admitted defeat and got raised over the barriers with a banging headache; so missed being right at the front before lovely Gavin Rossdale came on!!
Since then have been to tons at Leeds and Manchester during uni (Therapy?, Idlewild, Rachel Stamp, Terrovision..), now we usally haul our bums to Birmingham as it's closer and most bands play there. That said, we drove up to Derby 2 days before Christmas to see LostAlone, of my favourite bands ever playing a Christmas show.Do good deeds and you could raise the curtain, do good deeds and you could really raise your life....0 -
My first gig was East 17 :embarasse when i was 12. Ive always been quite mature for my age though so my mum didn't tend to worry to much. By the time i was 16 i had seen let loose, Take that (numerous times), Wet wet wet (numerous times), Shakespear's sister and D:ream. I normally went with a friend and always made our own way there but i did go on my own a couple of times.
Im now 32 and still very much love going to gigs. I normally still go to around 5-10 gigs/concerts/festivals each year0 -
13, Cockney Rebel at Preston guild hall, taken by some older girls, Judy if you are reading thanks for taking me under your wing, I will never forget pressing our ears against the wall to hear them rehearsing come up and see me, and meeting Steve Harley after at the back doors. That was the start for me, never looked back travelled all over seeing so many famous bands including Queen and Bowie...Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

I was 33 and it was to see JLS
however I did escort my 10 year daughter and have to say that It was actually quite good!!
Last year I won tickets to the Radio one big weekend , where my ultimate crush, music idol and fantasy boyfriend Dave Grohl was playing. My son who is 17 is the worlds 2nd biggest Foo Fighters fan (after me!!) was desperate to go, so being a super parent :rotfl:I did the "right" thing and gave them up to him and his gf. I now alternate between major regret and pleasure from knowing how much they enjoyed it.
My 17 year old is a gig king!!. He's been to more concerts and festivals than I can remember. He's been going for over 2 years now and I do worry a bit about him getting crushed as he always manages to get to the front but he loves it and is a really sensible kid. He is actually at Newcastle tomorrow seeing somebody called Asking Alexandra and i must admit , I'm actually excited for him!! :j

How curious. I went out with a young gent who was good pals with the Cockney Rebel chaps and met them before their first away from home gig at the Greyhound on Fulham Palace Road. I seem to remember that the bass-player was particularly good-looking.
15. My first gig was Stone The Crows, Blodwyn Pig and Ten Years After at the Royal Albert Hall in about 1970 with a friend from school. Because it was at the RHA I knew my parents didn't realise it was a rock gig, full of disreputable dope-smoking hippies. Just the kind of young men we liked. Oh, happy days!0
