Free Kindle with Selftrades 2.62% Cash Isa

I have opened my Selftrade ISA and initiated transfer of this year's allowance plus accrued interest from Nationwide. The message from Selftrade says that I should allow up to six weeks for the funds to be transferred! That means that I could miss the 31st January deadline!0

So just to clarify:
Account opened on or after 4.1.12
£5K minimum deposited by 31.1.12
For those utilising a transfer from an existing ISA the timescale might be tight.
But Selftrade are on to a winner- they get a big inflow of cash from people looking to bag a free Kindle. If transfers don't arrive before the deadline, they still have the cash until the astute arrivals transfer their cash back out. 2.62% isn't going to retain anyone. But there may be those who can't be bothered to move the money again. They are the real targets of this very clever bit of PR.
Cynical? Me?
Best of luck everybody!...and then the window licker said to me...0 -
Just to let you know about my experiences. I opened my account with Selftrade on Saturday 7th, submitted my transfer form on Friday 13th. Money received from Nationwide with Selftrade Friday 20th. Hopefully the Kindle will arrive by mid Feb.0

I've submitted my application online last Friday but not heard back from them since. Supposedly they're going to send me my login details.0

Yes, that's right. They send you a verification code to activate the account, and you have to send them a bank statement too.
is this the case for everyone? i just opened an account (although slightly regretting it now. the site looks dodgy), and frustrated that i now only have 10 days to receive a code, transfer money and send a statement in. seems unlikely i'll qualify for the kindle, to be honest.0 -

The site may be a bit garish but they're not a dodgy company
They are an execution-only broker who recently got bank status and it looks like they decided to start their banking line with offering cash ISAs. I've had a share dealing account with them for a number of years without issues. Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
Says will except online statements if have logo and bank account number on
Do I have this correct, you just need to have opened and made the deposit by the 31st Jan, not sent statements or verified address?0
