Of course she does - she's £180 down.

It's not rocket science, even for an ex-postie.

exactly, people are happy for rules not to matter until theres an issue
I have stated many times there shouldnt be any leaving with neighbours/safeplace
however folks are quick enough to malign that as a jobsworth attitude
so this thread is a perfect example of what can happen

No I asked you not to PM and I will reply to your thread as I see fit.
I have one working hand just now and dealing with your thread and constant PM notifications is a bit much.
helping and being at someones beck and call are not the same thing

Again i do apologise and i did not realise what was going on in the thread while asking in PM
I am very grateful for all the help and advice i have been given, and as an ex postie yourself just wanted to know if there are any set rules which you have now answered so thankyou

however writing addresses or part addresses on cards is not permitted as theses cards are scanned and uploaded to the net

These cards in my opinion require updating to make room for the address it has been delivered too, don't you think it so?

Isn't it possible that the delivery policy is slightly different in each region? Could this be the reason my postie pops a house number next to the signature.

I will ask my Postie tomorrow if he knows he is breaking the delivery policy.

Is it delivery policy for them to wear helmets too when they cycle, as I have seen some who do and some who do not, I think a Risk Assessment is called for...more paperwork.

Why should any of us care what the rules are if we aren't employed by Royal Mail? Do you regularly look at other people's terms and conditions just on the off chance? Do you expect a 13 year old lad to know the rules and regulations when a postie asks him to sign for something?

The lad and the OP are not at fault here in any way.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

No. its a national policy because it relates to the track and trace system.
the cards wont be updated as they are to be phased out, just like bikes
wearing helmets is compulsory for cyce deliveries and is a conduct issue

The bikes are to go? We live in a semi rural area, my postie needs his bike.

There are not enough RM vans in the area as it is, as they use hire ones regularly, how much is that costing them?

Keep the bikes, I feel a letter coming on.....

How is it, Hermes charge less for a parcel under 2Kg to be collected from your home and delivered within 3 days than it does to send it by RM standard parcels...This is a serious question, I was very surprised to discover this yesterday.

how can you compare RM to hermes?
where is Hermes depots? collection points? items delivered at a loss?
items delivered free? (eg articles fro the blind)
Are people still really unaware of whats happeneing?
do you know what Downstream Access Mail is?

As for bikes. they are going. 2 in a small van doing large deliveries are the furite in RMs vision
Park n Loop as its termed

well who is to say the postie didnt leave a card(given they state they have always been one left before) but it got missed/lost ;)
    see we can all speculate

Yes usually they do and come around and ask, so i know they didnt get one but just say for instance they did get one wouldn't there be a record of that card posted with parcel/R/D number on it
I am just enquiring as i dont know the answer but just thought there would be
