    INTELLIGENT FINANCE
    1 Baird Road
    Kirkton Campus
    Livingston
    EH54 7AZ

    or

    Trinity Road
    Halifax
    West Yorkshire
    HX1 2RG

    Trinity Road is really the head office as its owned by the Halifax (Bank of Scotland)

    Very nice canteen there too (as an ex-staff member ;)) but not as good as Barclays Home Finance (Millshaw Court, Leeds), better at Bradford & Bingley (Bingley & Cross Flats) too, but the best was at Yorkshire Building Society :D
    Got It & Spent It :dance:
    IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)
    MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)
    I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)
    CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)
    BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)
    On Hold :mad:
    A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)
    BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)
    BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)
    ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)
  • Hi

    I sent a letter to IF to claim back £1985 in charges on 4th July 2007.

    They have replied saying they are reviewing my case as a complaint i presume and will reply within 4-8 weeks!!!!!

    Has anybody received this and managed to win if so what did you do???

    Did you send the letter saying you weren't happy with response and will commence legal action in 7 days if not refunded?

    Or did you wait till they replied with either an offer or no we will not refund?

    looking at this website they offer 50% initially then you call them and haggle for more. I haven't received this yet should i wait till i get this before sending the court action letter???

    Any help would be greatly appreciated on this

    Thanks

    Hi, I have been trying to claim my default charges back from Intelligent Finance (Halifax) and they have offered me 50% of my charges, should i accept this or continue??
  • No dont accept half of what is your money. They always start off by making a ridiculously low offer, hang on in there and you will eventually get the whole amount back.

    On the offer you should have had a phone number, ring them up & be very polite but say you would like to know if they can up it, they will say what to, you say the full amount of charges (not interest, they wont give you that) & the likely outcome is they will!

    Halifax DO negotiate so you should get all your charges back but again they wont give you the interest, only court will get you that mate :)

  • Hi all

    I have now received a letter from IF offering 50% of my charges back.

    If anybody has won their claim can you advise what you did at this point by the sounds of it you should call and negotiate for just the charges alone without the interest can more people vouch that this works?

    Thanks

  • Hi all

    I called IF after receiving my 50% letter ad requested the full amount they said they could only authorise 75% i requested 80%. I was placed on hold while a manager was contacted and they agreed to refund 80% so total of £1640 refunded to the account!!!!

    So keep trying people it is worth it

    Thanks

    Hi all.

    I'm finally pulling my finger out and writing to my old CC companies to see if I paid any charges....I'm sure I did!

    I used to have an Intelligent Finance card......am I right in thinking I would have to write to Halifax now, quoting my old IF CC number?

    Thanks in advance guys.

    PS I'm posting this on the reclaim and also DFW boards......as I know you're all brilliant. x
