  • Thanks RoCas - it was their usual assortment of nitwits that I spoke to. Frankly, they've had their 40 days and I'm not interested in running up my phone bill trying to chase statements that they have to give me under law. They really annoyed me on the phone as they were completely rude and unhelpful and, moreover, obviously have no idea what they're speaking about!

  • An update - a very, very, very nice man phoned me today and apologised for the delay, saying they only received the request on the 27th December. He asked about my DPA non-compliance and I explained that the only reason I sent it was because the woman on the phone had been so incredibly rude to me. If she'd been even half-way pleasant I wouldn't have sent the DPA non-compliance, I would have given them the benefit of the doubt. Mr Nice Man said that he'd look over the phone transcript, which was nice. I fell much better today *g*

  • Sorry not sure if this is the right place has anyone claimed from Intelligent Finance? I need to get hold of my details and on post 1 there is no address for the data protection officer/manager for Intelligent finance. Do I need to send it to the Halifax (as IF are part of them) or do I use the address given on the second post?
  • Just spoken to IF regarding obtaining last 6 years statements and they are insisting its £60 i.e £10 per year,is this correct or did I not read it was a maximum £10?

Also she said to her knowledge no one had reclaimed from IF so far, which I didnt believe for a moment!,if you have gone down the process with IF could you let me know ,as I can only find info for Halifax on the site rather than IF itself.

£60 seems a bit steep just to obtain statements, does it not?

    Many Thanks,

    James
  • If you are asking for statements the banks are entitled to charge for them, some banks its per statement. You need to ask for a list of all charges for you as per the Data Protection Act, please see "Ask for charge details" letter in Martin's article.

  • I am currently reclaiming in excess of £2k from IF due to issue court papers next week. they have made a couple of low offers which i have declined. If are playing hard ball and taking their time but they clearly do not know what they are doing!

they provided me with a list of charges free of charge, but i did start the process with them at the start of december!

keep going, they are only entitled to £10 under DPA.

    Good luck
  • Intelligent Finanace told me today that they will send me an intemised list of all my charges for the last 6 years for free, but it will take about 60 days?

It was funny actually the girl that answered the phone started laughing hysrtericlally and then started reading from a script!

    Common request now methinks!
  • Apologies if this has been asked before, I did search to see if anyone else had raised it but couldn't find anyone who had...

I'm claiming back money from Intelligent Finance, having rejected their paltry offer. As their postal address is in Scotland, the Moneyclaim website won't let me use that, but they're part of Halifax so can I use that address instead, or will it affect my claim?

    Any advice gratefully received!
