Hi - does anybody have any experience with IF?
I sent my first letter back in Feb, got the statutory reply saying they would investigate within 8 weeks (26th April). Wrote back saying thanks, but please will instruct court after 14 days - no response. Started my claim online - accepted and they have until the 22 April to respond. Couple of days ago I rang to ask how my complaint was going - not even been allocated to a rep yet!
On Monday I can complete the moneyclaim online to say that they have entered no defence - but am I doing the right thing???? Should I wait until their response on the 26th or go ahead with court?0 -
Received a nice letter from Intelligent Finance on the 40th day with my returned £10 cheque (service is free) and a complete breakdown of charges.
Also received NatWest forms for new current account on the same day.
Claim for refund and signed NatWest agreements to be sent tomorrow.0 -
Hi, I got a letter from IF today offering half of my claim, I'm going to call them to see what I can get, if not the full amount then I'll start the claim process!!!0

When I sent my first letter off requesting a list of my bank charges I got a reply, but on the final day of the cut off point. When I wrote a second letter pointing out these charges were unlawful and I would like to request a refund they again replied on the last possible day. However, whilst pointing out I was made aware of the charges when I opened the account they failed to answer my question about the refund. So, another letter was sent and another long wait! When they finally responded I was offered under half of what I was owed as a full and final settlement. Of course I declined it and stated I was now prepared to take them to court. Another snotty letter from them later and still no joy. I have now filed a claim on MoneyClaim.com using their Halifax address as IF is based in Scotland. The cut off point is today and still no defense has been entered. Fingers crossed.........0

HELP!
Ive gone through the process and it appears IF want to go to court! The years of bad service seems to continue and im just wondering what to do now...have i made a mistake on the forms (i think i claimed for failed direct debits should i have done that?). IF are based in scotland ...should i have used a different process?
Has anyone else been in this situation?

Following on from my other post : I submitted a judgement by default on the internet and it was accepted. 2 hours later IF put in an acknowledgement. Just about sums them up - waiting until the very last possible moment to respond!0

Hi all, first time poster stumbled across this site purely by accident but boy am I glad that I did!
Could really use some advice with regard to (I am sure) many hundreds of pounds that my ex husband and I paid to IF in charges. Will try to be brief but please bear with me. My ex and I have a joint a/c with IF which has remained open (although unused) as it is linked to a mortgage with them which for numerous reasons has had to remain in joint names, we also each had an IF credit card. My CC is now being repaid (slowly) by means of a DMP (CC debt was passed to Blair, OLiver or whoever) but I have no idea how or if my ex is dealing with his CC debt!
If I were to go ahead and reclaim charges from them would it impact in anyway on the mortgage? (there is some arrears on the mortgage which I am paying off monthly and any reclaimed charges would more than cover the arrears anyway).
Would they be likely to get funny about the DMP arrangement on the credit card debt?
As it is a joint bank a/c would any application for reclaiming charges have to be done in joint names or would just my signature on any letters suffice?
Any and all help gratefully appreciated cos as I said at the outset I am sure they owe us an absolute fortune in charges.
Thanks.0 -
