Hi all
I need to know the address for sending the DPA letter to IF. Is it the usual address for IF?
I've tried searching for this information but can't seem to find it online.
I closed down several accounts with IF a while ago and now have no details of the accounts I held with them. I know they charged me a lot (this was my reason for closing the account). I've filled in the usual DPA template and added that I do not know the account numbers etc - do you think this will suffice?0 -
Hi All!
This is my first post, just thought I would keep you all updated with my progress. Hopefully it will be such an easy process it will inspire more and more people to do same!!
Progress so far:
14th March - Sent letter to Intelligent Finance requesting £980 refund
22nd March - Recieved letter stating complaint has been recieved and will be in touch when matter is investigated.
Anyone else got any experience with Intelligent Finance?? (Hopefully sucess stories!!)0 -
I have today received an offer from Intelligent finance, they have offered 50% of my bank charges. My dilemma is, do I accept, or carry on fighting, my worry is, this is a scottish bank, and scottish law being different am I likely to get any more, even though the half they have offered is not the £750 I can claim in a scottish small claims court, I could just end up with nothing if they dont agree to settle before it gets to court.
If anyone has any advice I would be grateful, what would you do in these circumstances, take the money and run? or fight?0 -
Does anybody have Intelligent Finance's registered address in England under Halifax? I have just found out I can not use the money claim webiste as their main address is in Scotland. Any help is much appreciated.0

I had the same problem but if you look at the bottom of any correspondence from IF it says Intelligent Intelligent Finance are part of Halifax Plc and their registered address in England is:
Trinity Road, Halifax, West Yorkshire, HX1 2RG
I wan't sure if it was the right address at first but have a claim going through at the moment and they have acknowledged so it must be ok, good luck0 -
I also received a 50% offer from Intelligent Finance after submitting the letter threatening to take them to court. I considered taking the money however I have since filed a claim online using their Halifax address.
If you look at the bottom of any correspondence from IF it states:
'INTELLIGENT FINANCE is a division of HALIFAX plc, registered in England No. 2367076: Trinity Road, Halifax, West Yorkshire, HX1 2RG
I wasn't sure if this was the right address to use however they have now acknowledged my claim so it must be ok0 -
I never even thought about the registered address business !!
I sent my request letter by recorded delivery on 8th March 2007. Although I'd received other correspondence from them since then, there was no acknowledgement of my request. So I used the online contact form on the 10th April as it clearly states that they respond to all queries within three working days.
Sure enough I got an email reply back on the 13th April confirming that they received my letter on the 9th March and I will get a response by 18th April (the full 40 days !!!).
I opened a parachute account today with NatWest to prepare for any fallout. Thankfully I have no CC, loan or overdraft though I have really liked using Intelligent Finance up to now.
I somehow get the feeling which is now confirmed by other's experiences that they are really going to drag their feet over this.0 -
I sent off a letter with my £10 on 6th March to Intelligent Finance and today received a statement with all my charges for all my accounts which I have with them. The total for two years which I banked with them totals to £570.
Can anyone inform me of where I can find the second letter to send to now claim back the charges.
Many thanks0 -
In-debt, you'll find them in several places.
You can access them from Edinburghlass' signature on previous page of this thread or follow the links from the MSE homepage.
Good luck.0 -
You'll find the links to Martin's article and some of the template letters in the Resource Bar which is at the top of each page. In fact you'll find a Resource bar on most of the boards on MSE with links to articles that are relevant to that particular board, very useful they are

I've now added the Halifax address to the registered address list, thanks.0
