Have a moan GUO, it will do you good
Thank you peeps.I was having a grump that day. The hedgetrimmer who cut the hedge on the road near my house has cut through the phone wire, so no phone or internet at home now until BT come along and fix it. I couldn't get on line to check the bank balance (my card got declined in the shop). I have overspent horribley due to lots of family birthdays (my fault should have said no) and last but not least OH's work have c****d up his overtime for the third month in a row and now I can't pay my heating oil bill. OH said not to worry about it because they delivered the oil so we won't freeze, but I will have to call the oil company and let them know that we won't be able to settle up the account until the end of October now.
However on the plus side the new Aldi opens tomorrow:T No money to spend in it though until pay day:rotfl:DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Isn't it annoying when your wages are wrong? My company forgot my o/t once and I had to wait a month to get it. Trouble was I had already spent itMy phone bill was wrong last month, they had charged me for a service I'd cancelled. The woman on the phone was a bit taken aback though when she said "we will credit it next month" and I said "NO! I need it NOW!!!". After a quick word with her supervisor they decided to reduce my bill as a 'gesture of goodwill' Cheeky so-n-so's!
Sorry you're having a run of bad luck. I'm sure it will pick up soon. :heartsmil
I'm looking forward to 25th like it was Christmas this month :jbecause that's when I can check my first CCCS statement! It seems to have been forever since we sent our first payment to them.0 -
Hi all
I have finally had my LBM and am now in the early stages of DMP with CCCS. Our beloved daughter passed away at the start of the year and it has put many things into perspective for us and how we live our lives and how even though we both work we cannot continue to rob peter to pay paul month in and month out, that life is for living and is far too short to lose sleepless nights worrying over money when there are things that can be done, it has taken till now though to pluck up the courage to actually do it.
Paperwork has been sent back to them today (recorded delivery) although I am waiting for 2 up to date statements from Barclaycard and Halifax which I will submit once received.
I have opened a new bank account, wages from next week will start going into that account, need to change some direct debits but feel so relieved that I have finally taken control.
We are not in arrears with any payments but after are living on credit which has now dried up and made me face up to the situation we are in. Our debt is £16000.00 and I am ashamed that we have got into the position but am now facing it and maybe I just may sleep a little better tonight!
The DMP has been set up over the internet and so far has been relatively painless, will they call to confirm they have received the documents?? when will we pay them the first payment??
I have been reading all the posts and you all appear such a friendly bunch and are very supportive of each other, what a welcoming board I have found x
Hi,
Just wanted to stop and say welcome aboard, there are some great people here who will help you out or just be a shoulder to cry on!! Quite a few of us have only just started DMP's so we are all in the same boat - our second payment will be made this month to the creditors who have all gone very quiet. We are able to sleep at night without worrying now. We are with the CCCS who couldn't be more understanding - its like having your own bouncer to watch they don't overstep the mark!
Best of luck to you!!Debts as of June 2012 - £68,986.35Now £27,470.20 :T57% of debts cleared:beer:0 -

Hi Savvysass, just wanted to add my welcome too and say how sorry I was to hear about your loss as well. Debt seems very trivial in comparison, however it has to be dealt with. The DMP will get easier, the first couple of months are a bit up and down until it gets properly underway. Plus it will give you a huge sense of relief to be dealing with the problem.I have been reading all the posts and you all appear such a friendly bunch and are very supportive of each other, what a welcoming board I have found x
I think we are a friendly bunch if slighty bonkers, but we need a bit of light relief once in a while:)DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Morning campers,
My DMP is getting in place and MBNA were the first to get in touch. They've put me on a "reduced interest payment plan" which has reduced the interest to 12.9% which in fairness is pretty 5hite. 60 month repayment plan! Yikes... Still, I'm in it for the long haul.
On the plus side I managed to track a PPI claim back off an old loan too via my credit history and fair play to Lloyds TSB were more than happy to assist me with it.
Hope all are well on this chilly morning...Back in the game...0 -
Hi Savvysass and welcome,
Could I too reiterate what others have said about passing on their condolences to you for such a tragic loss, I hope things are looking good for you now?
I'm about 3 weeks in front of you I think. See post above ^ my first creditor got in touch with me yesterday with a very friendly letter which I was surprised about.
What I will say though is that the CCCS & everyone on here are extremely helpful, non judgemental in anyway. Your story on spending sounds similar to mine. So feel free to keep us posted on how it pans out for you. My first CCCS payment is 1st October...
Welcome aboard!Back in the game...0 -

Hi and welcome savvysass :hello:
I am terribly sorry to hear about the loss of your daughter and know well how tragic events can put things into perspective.
Well done on taking the first and most difficult steps in your debt free journey :T
Many of us have experienced the living on credit and then the sudden realisation that there isn't any left available. We did that for almost 2 years then the lightbulb came on bright and clear and it hasn't stopped shining since

Ask MBNA to completely freeze it or make a greater reduction. Ours is currently 3.45% and we are moaning about that as I have seen plenty of people on here say MBNA have frozen it immediately.

Thanks I was hoping that may have been a reaction on here. I'll write to them along those lines saying I was hoping that it may have been frozen entirely or that it's still very high (which it is).Back in the game...0 -
Hello everyone and thank you for your kind words.
Yesterday I felt elated that I was taking control, today I am feeling scared and nervous, however I know this is normal from reading back on your threads. It has been an horrendous year for us but perhaps now things will start getting slightly better, I feel we have reached rock bottom so the only way is up.
I have just cancelled direct debits, that in itself was scary and I am going to get the template letter ready to send off to them all.
Did all of you make token payments until your plan was started? If so how much? I dont want to make too much then CCCS offer them less
Many thanks all x0
