  • We changed all of our direct debit dates when we changed bank account and made sure they were for the start of the month. No-one seemed to have an issue with it so I would give it a go and see :)

We do pretty much the same as D3P0 suggested, as soon as everything is paid, work out the funds for the remainder of the month and split it into weeks. Diesel is currently our highest expenditure and am devastated now that Tesco's save 50p a litre is well and truly over, we saved a fortune on that one. Their current offer of spend £50 and get 5p a litre off is piddling in comparison :(

  • Hello,

Just checking in, hope everyone is having a good week.

Nearly at the end of the month - I actually look forward to pay day now and not just so i can pay the bills!

Just had an interesting experience on ebay. I sold an item and was contacted by the buyer who told me they didn't have paypal and therefore could they have my bank details for a transfer. Call me old fashioned, but why would i give out my bank details? Are you serious? Maybe I'm just not very trusting, but there is no way I would let someone else know these details!

I politely told them to Foxtrot Oscar. I then received a very rude message back from, which was not so polite, telling me I was going to be reported to ebay. I then, still politely, told them to carry on. My selling page quite clearly stated that I ONLY accept paypal. I haven't heard anything back since.

Maybe its just my cynical nature, but this is all seems very dodgy. The buyer had no feedback, yet opened an account in 2009?! I have pre-empted it by contacting ebay about the buyer and his behaviour. I doubt I will hear anything again, probably just a 'fishing' exercise to see if I was stupid enough to give him my details.....still, I now have to relist the item....

Apart from that, having a wonderful week. Hope everyone is chugging along :)

I would feel the same as you, it takes moments to set up paypal. Well done. Can you report them?

eBay will back you. If the terms of the advert stated Paypal then why would a bank transfer be suitable?

I've got some magic beans and a bit of belly button fluff. I assume this is not deemed acceptable either?

    Hi
Giving your sort code and account number to someone is not a security risk. Its the same details as are on a cheque. I run my own business and people pay me this way all the time. Its the details needed for an online bank transfer and is a perfectly legitimate way of paying someone so I doubt they were looking to do anything dodgy.

However, from an ebay point of view you are well within your rights to refuse payment this way and I thought ebay T&Cs required all users to have paypal these days? Stick to your guns and report them as a non paying bidder if they don't come up with the money through paypal. Then you will hopefully get your listing fee etc back.

Had a letter a couple of days ago saying our virgin card has been sold on to Aktiv Kapital but we haven't heard anything from Activ Kapital yet so haven't been able to update the details with CCCS. Anyone know how long they are likely to take to send the payment details etc through or will they just send them straight to CCCS? When our HSBC card got passed to Metropolitan we heard from them straight away with the details.

Forgot to ask - is it easy to change dd payment date? Do you have to overpay if the day you choose is after your current date?

I have also changed all the payment dates to the 1st of every month. There was no issue even though some of these used to be on the 15th and 18th, there was no extra to pay at all.

Also - got defaulted by Halifax yesterday - but they are applying zero interest to the card - Whoop Whoop!

Natwest have asked me to write to them allowing them to speak to CCCS directly, I already have but this is a different address - so in the post today. They have told me that it will be less stressful for me if they do this directly - my god - a bank with a heart. But they have also suspended interest.

Just stupid HSBC to deal with now - £100 a month interest!!
    Debts as of June 2012 - £68,986.35
    Now £27,470.20 :T
    57% of debts cleared:beer:

  • afternoon all,

sorry to be a pain and ask again but could anyone who is with CCCS tell me what happens at an annual review as mine is due soon.

is it all conducted over the phone or do i have to send off paperwork to them again?

i just want to have everything ready and not have a last minute panic.

    thanks in advance xx
