Apologies, I remembered reading it assumed it was a CCCS arrangement.
    Back in the game...
  • thats ok :)

sorry its probably me just being thick but since ive been on the DMP ive become a bit obsessive baout having everything organised and in place or i find myself getting all stressed again lol
  • Reviews are all the same as I understand it. I'm with CCCs, they will just want to go through your last income and expenditure and look for any changes. Straighforward really but I understand why you feel unsettled with your first one.

Let us know how you get on

  • thanks HH,

i will definately let you know how i get on but ive had a quick look through things this morning and i think i am going to be able to increase my payment by approx £20 a month....every little helps i suppose xx
  • Had a look at my credit file earlier - Lowells have done a search on there. I wonder whose sold on to them, could be M&S as they have defaulted me recently. Anyways, bit worried as you never know how they are going to play it.
Fed up with it all at the moment as it feels like the balance is coming down toooooo slowly and 51more payments to go
But at least it is going down.

    I think I need chocolate ;)

  • Hi all

I have finally had my LBM and am now in the early stages of DMP with CCCS. Our beloved daughter passed away at the start of the year and it has put many things into perspective for us and how we live our lives and how even though we both work we cannot continue to rob peter to pay paul month in and month out, that life is for living and is far too short to lose sleepless nights worrying over money when there are things that can be done, it has taken till now though to pluck up the courage to actually do it.

Paperwork has been sent back to them today (recorded delivery) although I am waiting for 2 up to date statements from Barclaycard and Halifax which I will submit once received.

I have opened a new bank account, wages from next week will start going into that account, need to change some direct debits but feel so relieved that I have finally taken control.

We are not in arrears with any payments but after are living on credit which has now dried up and made me face up to the situation we are in. Our debt is £16000.00 and I am ashamed that we have got into the position but am now facing it and maybe I just may sleep a little better tonight!

The DMP has been set up over the internet and so far has been relatively painless, will they call to confirm they have received the documents?? when will we pay them the first payment??

I have been reading all the posts and you all appear such a friendly bunch and are very supportive of each other, what a welcoming board I have found x

Can't help re Lowells, they will let you know in due course. Good news on the default, less chance of big interest as I understand it.

Have chocolate, it will feel better.

You have done well to get to 18 months. 18/69 is 26% of time spent on DMP, more than a quarter of the way there. Does that sound better?

    Hi and welcome

Very sorry to hear about your loss. As you say puts things into perspective and am sure your daughter will be proud you are taking positive steps to beat the debt and reclaim your life.

Can you call BC and Hellifex for balances. So long as CCCS have full account number etc they are usually ok with that.

Please don't feel ashamed. We all have a story, very few people have done reckless champagne lifestyle here, most had a downturn in circumstances, fell victim to high interest rates and buried our heads trying to cope for too long.

Unlikely CCCS will call you, you have to do the driving! Try call them Friday or Monday, am sure it will be good news then. You pay them when you have your payday. People usually do this 1st or 10th of the month.

Looking forward to getting to know you more.

    afternoon all,

sorry to be a pain and ask again but could anyone who is with CCCS tell me what happens at an annual review as mine is due soon.

is it all conducted over the phone or do i have to send off paperwork to them again?

i just want to have everything ready and not have a last minute panic.

    thanks in advance xx

I had my first annual review with CCCS recently. I didn't have to send anything off to them and did the review over the phone. I did do some preparation first though. I made sure all the balances on my debts were up to date and correct and changed them via the web site. The balances CCCS give you are only estimates and you should check them every so often. I also went through my budget from last year and made notes on what had changed. My rent had gone up but my electricity payments had come down etc. So basically we just went through everything with the new figures and then CCCS worked out our new payment. It was very easy to do and because I had everything prepared it didn't take long either.
