Thank you to the people helping me remain positive.
Here's hoping they have a big mad rush of job appointments soon.0 -
Does anyone know why it is that HRMC are dealing with the recruitment now?
I received back my CRB, emailed it to them as they requested, now Ive found out BOTH of my references are out of the country for 2 weeks as from today, Im really panicking about it and dont know who to call. Ive emailed hrmc but gotten no reply. Does anyone know if theres a time limit that the referees have to get back to them by??
HMRC are the lead department for Civil Service Recruiting, although it doesn't really have much to do with them as such, they are simpy 'hosting' it. Perhaps now the volume of work is much reduced the contract for workforce or whoever has finished.0 -

This year he has been given a 1% pay increase and believes that I too will get this increase when I start my new EO role.
I can't confirm that until I actually get my contract though.;)0 -
I'm not sure you will get the pay increment, I have looked on the DWP website and it says you had to be employed with them on the 30 june and 1st July to receive this increment?
Does anyone else know if new starters will get the increment who were employed after the 2nd July0 -
I am assuming, like JessStar said, that the band minimum is increasing [so not a pay increase as such, just a new start rate].
Until I get my contract I won't actually know - but it's something I could ask my new manager when I start in just over a week's time.0 -
Well my first day was great!
Met lots of people that I used to work with so it was more like a trip down memory lane.
Got a massive headache from having to read so many policy & procedure manuals but I am looking forward to attending training workshops next week.
So far, so good...;)0 -
Good to hear it was worth the wait!0

Got a provisional offer for SL on Friday, can anyone help me with information on how long it would take to give me a confirmed offer and what are the procedures?0

Are the DWP still using the timed online situational test to sift through applicants? The one where you have to rank your responses to hypothetical work situations (e.g Very Inappropriate to Very Appropriate). These exercises are so tough to pass. What do YOU all think of them?camelot1971 wrote: »The process will be:
1. Pass the online test
2. Pass the sift on the competencies you submitted with the application (my manager is on the sifting panel for that)
3. Pass the interview
4. Waiting list or job offer, depending on how you scored.0 -

They are not tough if you are suited to the type of work they are testing for - that's the whole point of them!0
