Got 'the call'. Been given a post in one of the offices on my preference list so very, very pleased.
Finally the long wait is over! Yay!:j

Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear.

Oh, and I also managed to secure part time working - 4 days a week. Just what I wanted!

Wow redsky that was really quick well done, I was also put on the reserve list in april and got a provisional offer last week.

I called the recuritment line last week and they said before they do my references they would do mr crb which they would send to my home and they would get notified about so I thought ok quite a while yet, but when I went into work 2 days later my manager had already received a reference form to fill out from hmrc for me.

Does anybody know approximately how long the crb will take and do they just contact the two references you put down or the whole 5 yr history?

My CRB took about 10days. Recruitment line told me that they just confirm current employment via HMRC. Only my additional character references were actually contacted.
I think they've actually been doing the process slightly differently for everybody so all I can say is that I had my provisional offer [via email] yesterday and firm offer [via phone] today because all my checks were done a month ago.
Hopefully it won't be too much longer for you!;)

Got Provisional offer for Derbyshire on 27th June. (interview score 36)

Disclosure Scotland took ages to come back (over a month), inspite of having been CRB checked twice before, when I went into the Police, and then for Teaching which only took 7 days that second time. I didn't realise Disclosure Scotland, and CRB were different entities.

Got Formal Offer yesterday, for my original 1st choice branch.

Gone from being over-joyed, to quickly very very nervous!

Is there anyone on the Forum who I could PM and ask advice about the Pension? I'd be really grateful as its something I know nothing about.

Do you receive any Info explaining everything. When I left the Police, I received my Pension money back, minus Tax and a contribution to returning to the State pension scheme. I hadn't even known that by opting "in" to the Police pension, that I'd opted "out" of the State one.

I'm starting 20th August. So I was given 2 days short of 3 weeks notice. I was asked if that was ok, and if I needed be given more for any reason. But I didn't, so I excitedly just agreed to everything.

When a thread makes Page 354 on a Forum, you know its been a long road ...for us, and the people behind the scenes organising it all.
