DWP Recruiting Again - 2012

Hi Kc1407
I just wanted to say that I thoroughly sympathise with your predicament and I find it extremely disappointing for you that they weren't able to accommodate your request. You are right, they did advertise AWP and from your perspective you were open and transparent with them from the outset, by clearly stating what you were able to work.
To reinforce the message you received at interview, I also clarified for myself at interview, and subsequently with an advisor on the recruitment help line, that AWP were available. Both sources confirmed yes. (Unfortunately it didn't transpire to be an issue for me as I didn't get an offer with a score of 41/45 and 97% ... reserve list only for me!).
However, as you were successful in achieving an offer, I personally would look into appealing the decision. To summarise, as we all know, it's been a long, time consuming process. You were made an offer. You had made it clear what you could work. They advertised AWP. Therefore I feel it's time they starting operating with transparency, clarity and a sense of urgency!!
Good luck in whatever you decide xx
I will like to second this. As long as you are sure you were transparent from the onset, I am sure they'll have to do something about this decision. This is not fair at all. After all, for you it is the difference of having the job and not having it. Good Luck!!!0 -
Any other South Yorks people still waiting?0

From the same region?0 -
Thank you for your comments. I asked about the right to appeal and was told their wasn't one. I'd be grateful to anyone who could point in the direction of a recruitment appeals process.0

Just received a phone call for an offer for S. Yorks.
Start 18th June doing some training at Hartshead Square in Sheffield.
It has taken 21 working days for me to hear something not bad
Could I ask how many points you had and if Sheffield was your first choice? Got my firm offer yesterday but told no full time vacancies in Sheffield : (.
Also has anyone received an email from them to confirm terms etc??
Thanks0 -
