I've not even had my formal offer yet -38 points. No FT vacancies in Sheff! Guess It'll be Mexborough or Barnsley for me then!

I've got 42 points and offered Rotherham - 2nd choice so not too bad but seems weird that Rotherham has jobs and Sheffield doesn't?

I'm thinking all those Head Office surplus staff were there to mop up most of the vacancies in Sheffield (I think 3 West Street offices were closing?).

I wouldn't mind Rotherham to be honest about 15 mins on the train and a short walk to the station for me.

Long time lurker here and first post. Received formal offer verbally and starting date. Does anyone a bit further along the process know if HR confirm this in writing or by email ?

The lady that I spoke to who deals with the East of Scotland said that the phone call was the firm offer and that hopefully paperwork would be with me in time for my start date but as it's being done centrally by ESSR then there's no guarantee of that. She said that if I haven't had the paperwork then to see my line manager about it on my first day. She also gave me a fairly detailed itenarary of my training for the first few weeks which was good although I didn't manage to get it all down as I was all excited at having got the call!

Thank you for that, need to hand my notice in !! Just have to take the plunge :) I was advised there would be a "fast track" training process delivered in the area but no real details. All will be revealed no doubt !

I got 44 out of 50 at the interview and will be based in Barnsley full time. That was my first choice.
Im not working in Sheffield but will be doing training for a week or two.
