Dont worry, the girl that I spoke to said she was the only one in today as people were on training. Fingers crossed you hear tomorrow.

Doubt it. We're on strike today.

I'll leave it till the weekend and then give them a call.

Well I got home last night to a letter from DWP asking for more information about the 2 months I worked as self-employed. I accepted the provisional offer over 2 weeks ago and they're only now asking me for the information!?!?! Ok, so I went to fill out the form only to find it asked exactly the same questions as they asked on the application form, no more, no less! What is the point!!! The only thing I can hope now is that they'll get it tomorrow morning which is probably when they'll get my disclosure so hopefully it won't slow things up at all.

I received exactly the same yesterday. And my reaction was exactly the same as yours too! It's as if they are playing for time! Grrrrr.

Nothing going in my area! Well 2 jobs but they are specialised in courts! Vocational therapist etc! Good luck to everyone that has applied though :)

Hi Debbie doo, it took over a fortnight to get a reply & they wouldn't tell me how many positions were offered in the end. I had 33 at interview so there must be at least 73 candidates in S E Wales who got between 33 and 36 points. It sounds incredible doesn't it?

Compounded even more by the fact that I got 35 and was told I am 14th on the list... All sounds a little suspect to me! Are they merely plucking figures out of thin air to keep people quiet???

hi bit off info from recruitment line (who were very helpful)

    i am external

49 in the nw list with score of 35 ( not going to get a job in NW then)
if you have applied to a number of differing areas and have multiple offeres/reservie lists then once all applications have progressed to the reserve/offer stage then the ref/checks stage will begin .

i accepted a north scotland offer over 3 weeks ago and no checks have started, double checked with discloser scotland and they have recieved nothing.
    conclusion
big reserve lists, dont hold out to much hope if you get the reserve email.
takes ages for the checks esp if you have applied to multiply areas.
and west yorkshire - very odd offer out today as on strike but hay ho at least i got a offer ..

    sue

ps good luck to the strikers

Hi Kely2301, what doesn't help our odds is the fact that there woudn't be many multiple region applicants in S E Wales so we have to rely on candidates turning down unsuitable offices for travelling to. I would only be prepared for a 30 to 40 minute commute each way to work or otherwise I would stay in my current job:)
I read the other day that someone from another area was contemplating a 2 hour commute each way!!!! (2 buses & a train)
I personally wouldn't cope with that:( If I had been prepared to travel to work those distances I could have applied for about 7 regions myself and increased my odds of an offer:D
