I find this pretty hard to believe? Are you saying that thirty odd people in your region scored 41 to 45???
That seems outrageous! Thirty odd people scoring 98888 or above ? Im not being funny but that can't be right, can it????
Personally I find it remarkable that anyone manages to get 9/9 in any competency let alone multiple competencies. But 30 + candidates achieving these scores in just one region??? Absolutely incredible :A
Just read this and had to comment.
I applied for both durham, northumberland, and london.
I didnt get passed the online tests for durham and northumberland. I was told that while my mark was sufficient the minimum mark was was raised because of the amount of applications in those areas.
So im assuming that the competition for the area of durham was so great that people with a score of 40 ended up on the reserve list.
In the end I got an offer from north and east london so happy days :j
just hope they give me a start date soon!
Btw congrats to everyone that got through and commiserations to those that didn. Keep perseveriing!0 -
Marky Mark - why do you even bother coming on here to post something like that? I'm not the only one who knows people who have had their locations already so why bother making up that no-one will have heard yet? It's a waste of your time and ours.
Anyway, to everyone else, from what I can gather from info on here and speaking to JCP managers and staff, the checks were started before we received provisional offers, so they could be quicker than expected. Also they are apparently doing disclosure Scotland (as opposed to the 'traditional' CRBs) at least in some areas as these are quicker than CRBs. One staff member had a D.S done in a week 2 weeks ago for a customer of theirs, so again, it may be quicker than we thought/the recruitment line have said. I think the recruitment line may be either giving worst case scenarios to people, or perhaps aren't competelly in the know about the procedure now - certainly the latter would be borne out by the misinformation given by them at earlier stages.
Simply, it may be quicker than expected, but as with every other stage, we won't know for definite until we individually get 'the call'. I just thought I'd share the information which I have been given in case it helps anyone.x.£2012 in 2012 - £13810 -

Can only comment on my situation, I had provisional offer last Tuesday and then Friday I had an email asking for a copy of a bank statement/utility bill. I did provide this at my interview but as it was so long ago can only imagine they needed a more recent one or that it had been miss placed in the mountain of paperwork they had to work through. So for us external applicants if they hadn't already started to get all the checks done, they defo are now, well according to my email anyway.0

Absolute rubbish. Prior has had one because they are INTERNAL! The woman I spoke to said security checks take 3 weeks to come back. Do you really think they are going to give you a start date before they've checked your background? And then what? Ring you up after you've handed in your notice at your job, when your job have already started looking for someone else and say 'oh actually, sorry, we can't employ you'. Use your brain!0 -
Wow, that was quite a harshly worded message. All I was saying, is based on the information given here and by contacts that I have within MY DISTRICT (it may obviously vary from area to area), the checks have already started, and may indeed have been started before we received results. The checks have been known to take as little as a week so therefore people may start hearing very soon, as opposed to 2-3 weeks as you say. Internal people have started to hear, some external people received their offers a couple of weeks ago, so external offers/locations may well start to come through now as well.
There was no need to be so sarcastic, and I use my brain very well thank you, which is precisely why I can work out that, even using your time scales, if people started to get provisional offers 2 weeks ago, then hearing this week or next week woud not be unrealistic.£2012 in 2012 - £13810 -
If you accept it can vary from area to area then why am I making it up? I'm repeating what I was told on the phone by a member of DWP, who said they would call back once the security checks have been completed and thus starts dates will likely be mid to late June. Just because you have 'heard' about different scenarios it doesn't follow that I'm automatically making it up, hence my 'strong words'.
One more thing though - why do you think we needed to reply to the email to say we accepted the offer? Perhaps because the security checks cost money and it would be a waste to start them before even knowing if the person wants the job?0 -
still waiting to here from west yorkshire - seems odd that my application to them is still on situation test compleated.. not had answer to where i am on the NW waiting list either.

Hi Hayzy, congratulations.
Are you willing to tell us which region, your score and position on the reserve list. It may help some others, one way or the other.
Thanks, and well done.0
