I got my offer for south London too :j!!!0 -
As far as I was aware mackem the funding for these posts have come directly from the treasury as part of the allocation for the youth contract. I haven't heard anything about that budget being cut?0

Right,
Just has a read through the last few days and having applied for one district and been put on the reserve list, who is it I blame?
Surely it can't be me, my interview or my attitude so there must be someone on this forum that is taking collective responsibility for all our failings!0 -

Please can all the bitter people stop!
There are loads of people on here who are on the reserve list and many who have received rejections, this was a nationwide recruitment and received 61000 applications which were whittled down to 10000 for interview. In my view anyone who got an interview must have what it takes to do the job. I myself have been reserve listed and i have 3 kids, a hubby out of work and yes to the guy last night i have a mortgage too. I also had 18 month FTA in a jobcentre which was extended by 6 months because i was good at my job. Am i gutted not to be given a post? Yes, is it anyone else's fault? No
In conclusion please stop being so bitter and send honest congrats to those who have done well especially those who have done well enough to get more than one offer and hope that the one they turn down is in your area.0 -

well done! Congrats0 -
Hi Katchoon, welcome to the forums!!! Where in SE Wales is your partner hoping to work? I think there are about 6 of us on here for that district, all patiently waiting. I think you're right, we're the last district to find out (please feel free to correct me anyone if I'm wrong!) I feel like setting up a little sub-forum/support group - the last ones standing or something like that - anyone wanna join me? So far (and again correct me if I'm wrong) I think the people waiting for SE Wales I've 'spoken' to on here (except for Fern) have all wanted different offices, which means if we're lucky then we'll all get offers without it being to the detriment of any of the others if you see what I mean.
Anyway, as always congrats to everyone so far, and to all my fellow SE Wales-ers, fingers crossed guys, this is the last little wait now!£2012 in 2012 - £13810 -

But if areas are looking to lose staff because they're under budget, why recruit and pay people off. Save the costs, reassign existing staff and the advertised posts become non existent to us wanabes.
100 posts advertised in N/NE and apparently as few as 18 taken on.
Funding is allocated to the regions to deliver the Youth Contract. How they provide the staff is a regional issue.0 -
By the way, Hnalloween Jack...welcome to the forum.
I hope if you were part of the recruitment you were successful.0 -
Unfortunately bill I seem to be part of the pariah district that is south east Wales lol. So I'm still waiting to hear at the moment0
