On another note as I am just ignoring the 'spiteful' posts :)

Anyone want to take a wild stab in the dark on how long the checks will take before you get a start date?

    I was thinking 30 days :)

Thanks Bill, I'm sure you haven't, but don't pay any mind to what samMorton said, you have been an asset to the thread, and speaking from soneone who used to do the job (and incidentally got many people back into work, helped lots of young people etc), you would have been a great asset to the DWP as you are able to talk to peope and empathise, as opposed to being a patronising stuck up superior fool.

Anyhoo......yeah debbie, hopefully it will be tomorrow. What office were you hoping to go to? I THINK there's you, me, Fern, Bosscat, Xutl, Welshjoe, Kely2301, Halloweenjack, Parfittme and Katchoon's partner (sorry if I missed anyone out) left from the SE Wales contingency! Fingers crossed the ten of us will have happy happy joy joy news tomorrow!!!!

I heard that the DWP had started doing the CRB checks for the successful candidates weeks ago so hopefully some of the regions will be quicker with the checks then others.

I've read the forum for awhile now and some great advice was given and unfortunately some people are now being bitter and disrespectful.

I am someone who is on the reserve list for my home region so I'll be starting a temp job AO role while waiting to see if I get the EO role.

I don't begrudge anyone who has accepted more then one offer, I say congratulations and the best of luck in your new role, you deserve the job that you've just been offered.

I'm hoping for Cardiff, I don't drive so anywhere else would be a struggle. Although I do have a motorbike that needs a lot of love and attention (plus I need to get my licence!) so if I did get offered somewhere else I'd consider it as the payrise would help me afford to get my bike up and running, and get my licence and then I wouldn't mind commuting anywhere in the Uk cause I'd have my baby to take me places :D
