Pluto9thPlanet wrote: »your hogging jobs bottom line you accepting two jobs is one less job from someone else.
we are not all in this together. People on this forum have accepted 4 OFFERS how greedy.
Its not a permanent hog though lol.... Its the perks of meeting the required score... eventually one can only accept one job, thus opening up opportunities for those on the reserve list...
Just chill there is nothing that you can do about it but wait...0 -
Pluto9thPlanet wrote: »Wait another two months? BECAUSE you accepted two jobs when you can only take one job?
I have to wait because you are being selfish and hogging.
DWP is not the place for you as your not exactly helping people who want to work are you. Your actually delaying them with your hogging andyour an obstacle as you have accepted more than one job available that could go to someone else.
So over the next month Notts will do their checks from the offer you accepted.
Then leics will do their checks from the offer you accepted.
four weeks later offer you the job and THEN YOU SAY NOOOOOOOOO AS I WORK SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Go to reserve list another month gone for the unemployed and another month waiting for the checks.
well done
Do you know, I think you are just here either to cause trouble or just blame everyone else for your shortcomings, who needs an employee with an attitude like you... You are very rude and I am not replying to anymore of your posts...0 -
Hate to say this but people who have applied for a number of regions r entited to provisionaly accept as many roles as they want . I am on the waiting list and just was not good enough on the day only scored 35 so cant apply to multiple jobs . As said only can take one job but if u good enough then why not see if you can get the best location . Dont blame them blame me and poss DWP for not having a better system0

Be prepared guys, as I think over the next few weeks we're going to get some really bitter posters on here.
Why can't people accept that it's nobody else's fault that they haven't got a job offer.
I have been put on the reserve list, but I can't blame Tom, !!!!!! or Harry.
Come on Pluto9thPlanet say it with me "it's my fault I have not got a job"
Are you bottletop11 from yesterday?0 -

I spoke to my advisor after the interview and told him that london and derby were easy to get to from loughborough. My jc advisor told me that because i lived in loughborough my interview would be in this district. So i withdrew my application to ensure my interview was in derby or london where i would be able to attend.
I got up at 4am in the morning to attend my interview in london. Did the interview got 33/45, not great but i was very tired and im on the reserve list in derby and london yet it would have been good enough in leics.
My job centre advisor thought i would be perfect for the loughborough office but now i have to tell him that his advice has cost me a job.
My score of 33 would give me a job as i can work anywhere in leicestershire.
I see my advisor tomorrow. I will be calm but i will probably go high up in the food chain about this issue as I feel badly advised and may even contact my mp as i need the job and bad advice has cost me.0 -

I agree with this. I too am on the reserve list and i like to think of it like this:
I've not got the job. Finally i can get on with my life. This whole process has been RIDICULOUS. If you can get through this and even onto the reserve list there's many other jobs out there you can bag.
You never know.. You might be surprised one day in the near future and get an offer. A lot can happen in 6 months. There's no need for bitterness. This whole forum has been about helping each other. How foolish will you look if you eventually get the job?
Keep the toys in the pram. Stay calm, and move on.
Once again. Congrats to everyone who got the job.0 -
Hi all
Congratulations to everyone who has received offers, and fingers crossed for all of you on the reserve lists!
My partner applied for the South East Wales district and the waiting is killing us!! It seems SEW is one of the last districts to release the info :S
We've been following this thread every day and we'll soon be developing mouse-finger from constantly refreshing the civil service page waiting for the results! Fingers crossed SEW results are out tomorrow/weds (24th/25th).
Not that I want to get drawn into anything, but re the concerns raised about multiple offers being accepted.. As someone said earlier (sorry not sure who!), that's the point of the reserve list; If multiple provisional offers are made and accepted by a candidate, then they're contacted by one of the districts and offered a role in an office on the edge of the district which is too far for them to travel to so they decide to withdraw their acceptance, their place will be offered to someone on the district reserve list. Given the set-up of applying for 'districts' rather than individual offices or towns, it seems like an ok system to me. No jobs or positions will be lost or taken away from anyone else.
This forum has mostly been a great support and frame of reference (despite the vast scoring differences between districts and the limited number of SEW posters!) for us both. I've got my fingers crossed for everyone who is still waiting to hear.. and especially for my partner who will no doubt be reading this*waves*

Because a marker gave you an 8 and me a 7 i have shortcomings? LOL
Is Bottletop back in another guise?
You just dont like to be told the truth. You accepting more than one offer are denying an opportunity for someone else. You want to work for the DWP yet you put your own self -interest AND DENY SOMEONE ELSE FROM HAVING A JOB.
you dont deserve to work for the dwp as your actions prove your in this for yourself. Just another worker in governement that is there for the salary and doesnt give a damn about people.
If you wanted to help people you wouldnt accept more than once offer As accepting more than one offer is putting someone on the waiting list.
Maybe if you hadn't withdrawn , for whatever reason, and you'd been lucky to get a better score, then been offered London and Derby and before you'd heard where you were to be posted in your own area, you would not have accepted another post within the deadline offered. Doubt it
Well done your colours are shown. You applied for the salary you dont give a damn about people and the unemployed.
You wont last 6 months in your post as your totally obsessed with yourself.
I work in a charity shop for the local oxfam store in Loughborough on a voluntary basis and get no wages but applied for the dwp as I wanted to help people get back into work and get there lifes going again
Not very charitable.
My job centre advisor thought I would be perfect for the role as I have been involved in charity for over 10 years and have put others ahead of myself.
The problem with this world is there are full of self-interested people who dont care for anyone but themselves and they are the ones that succeed in life as they are prepared to do anything that it takes to get ahead and thats not me.
I'm not selfish. I don't lie. I don't go in to interviews with an agenda of making things up to tick boxes on a competency. I was just me.
Back to working in the charity shop and fighting for a good cause. Its a shame that this process has recruited selfish people that care solely for themselves as this job is for people who give more than take.
Not like it's much different to what you were applying for.
I would work for the dwp for nothing I wonder how many of you could say that
So why the hostility. You obviously don't need the money...these guys do!0 -
Pluto9thPlanet wrote: »Trains go direct to London St.Pancreas with megatrain for £15 only stopping at Leicester on the way and it takes under an hour. To Northampton it would be logistically more difficult as you say bus/train/bus which is to stressful for an interview.
I used to commute everyday to London from Loughborough when i was working at the house of commons.
My advisor who i see tomorrow has said for weeks that he thought I'd get the job. But I didn't as the interview never looked at past employment or qualifications. Just flaky made up competencies where highly skilled people use to lying are affective in this stage of the process.
Bottom line is the DWP has a bad rep because it recruits the wrong KIND of people
theuy should ask when have you sacrificed for someone. when have you put someone else first instead of you.
Sounds like sour grapes to me. At the end of the day we didn't create the process DWP did.
If you want someone to blame it them. The process may not seem fair, but that's the way it is.
If you don't like this kind of process then you will hate working for jcp as most of them are long winded.
I for one have 2 offers, I will be accepting both of them. I'm not hogging someone else's job at I know that whatever one I turn down will go to someone on the reserve list.
I'm just hoping it goes to someone with a better attitude than you.0 -

I was about to say something similar but you beat me to it!
In fact, I would go so far as to say many are the same person with multiple accounts - Mrs Moo, Woodentop etc or whatever their names were and now this one - they're all 'new' accounts.
It is beyond me what pleasure they get from it.
Anyway, good luck and I hope it's not too long before you hear something0
