Anyone have any thoughts on being interviewed by someone known to you? Is it allowed??
• hi, don't worry, the interviewers will put you at ease. I used to interview in my old job and found that those that brought additional things with them such as testimonials etc stood out, so there is no harm in you doing so. The Qs are quite specific but related to the competency, I had something (it's all such a blur now lol) around treating people fairly, providing a service adapting to my customers' needs and motivating others to succeed, although these probably differ for each district. Hope all goes well for you :)
• Just logged on (well about 2 hours ago!) after being away from the forum for 10 days due to a family crisis.

Well done to KeyserSoze888, thunderplex, edtasonic and cake_baker on your excellent scores for NW and good to read that the interviewers were lovely.

My interview's at the end of the process (supposedly so I could give myself plenty of time to prepare and less time to worry about how I'd done) but I'm starting to get really worried now after seeing your brilliant scores! I've never had a competency based interview before and I always get very, very nervous before and during interviews.

Building Capability - Behavioural Rating 4 Building Capability - Behavioural Comment Competency demonstrated to required level Delivering a Customer Focused Service - Behavioural Rating 4 Delivering a Customer Focused Service - Behavioural Comment Competency demonstrated to required level - evidence would have been improved if candidate had demonstrated further proactivity in calling customer back prior to credit running out. Leading - Behavioural Rating 4 Leading - Behavioural Comment Competency requirements met - to improve rating a more specific example would be required. Managing People and Performance - Behavioural Rating 4 Managing People and Performance - Behavioural Comment This example wuld have been better suited to Leading - however meets minimum requirements Operational Delivery - Delivering a Professional Service Rating 4 Operational Delivery - Delivering a Professional Service
Competency demonstrated i am going for the interview soon ,i am confused about changing the managing people competencies question and also do i just meet the minimum requirements and should forget about the job,i really need the job ,will i just be asked question based on the competencies i provided or will i be asked to give them another example.

If those are your sift scores, I'd suggest you prepare more specific examples. If your competency marks from the sift arent that high, most likely you'll be asked to give other examples. Even though you've only met the minimum on the written competencies, the interview gives you the opportunity to expand and explain yourself better. It maybe you scored high in the online test and have relevant experience they think is valuable, hence the invite to interview, so I wouldnt give up just yet. good luck.

I found this in the 'Guidance', I don't know if it helps

For external exercises only, declare any pre existing relationships to ensure
they do not interview individuals they know to guard against bias

Just thinking about locations, lots of folk on here seem to have knowledge of where they may be based if successful, or at least, where they have requested to be based. My DH wasn't asked where he wanted to be based - he applied for Hampshire and Isle of Wight - and was interviewed in Havant on 2 March. When he queried location at interview the Panel said he would be sent an email within a week asking him to choose 1st, 2nd and 3rd location choices. Needless to say there's been no further communication. He was also told he would receive an email thanking him for attending interviewing and informing him of a date for feedback, nah, didn't get one of those either. ....
Anybody still out there on this thread with Hants/Isle of Wight experience/knowledge? Cheers

I'm also from Hants/IOW and also interviewed in Havant. No mention of location forms, or following email, although was told results would be quicker than they actually are, looking for April - May start. However I did get a communication about these forms, that implied it had not reached everybody (how were you meant to know you did not receive an email ??) queried this with the helpline who suggested I filled them in - even though the form said "This is not a preference exercise and we do not guarantee that if successful you will not be offered locations that you have not listed". I suggest he follow it up with helpline as I guess they need this info to be able to make offers as the form also asked where you could not work (ie the IOW !!). Good luck !
