  • hi, i got my interview on saturday and i tend to get nervous at interviews. has anyone got nevous for thier interview yet for decent/good scores.

also, when you said for example i was a team leader for boots, do they asked for dates or other details.

    thanks

    Hi Greenberet.

Yeah I was nervous before mine, but just be yourself, try to stay calm and get over what you want to say. Remember the interviewer(s) aren't there to catch you out or trick you.

When I gave my examples they didn't ask for any dates etc
  • Congrats everyone on some great scores - I'm still working on my competencies for my interview on Saturday, I've decided to change them up quite a bit as my sift scores weren't great.

Just wondering what people think is considered as a specific example. In the Delivering a Customer Focused Service competency I want to talk about a particular film that ran at a cinema I worked at which had some customer service issues. I'm planning on mentioning a few different incidents, they all pertain to that particular film which ran for a few weeks but not sure if it counts as a specific example or whether I'm cheekily getting a few in there :p

There will be no feedback on the application form as the sift for East London was based on the online test only and that’s why they are conducting a lot interviews now. The admin staff told me that there are 65-70 interviews/day during 3 weeks (6 days/week) and the interview panel confirmed that; around 1200 people which I think is a lot and it gives us almost the same chance as at the beginning of this drive.
I had my interview yesterday and it was a pleasant experience but there are several panels so it really depends who you’ll get. I wouldn’t worry though because all the interviewers have been trained to put the candidates at ease. I managed to talk for 1 hour (but that doesn’t mean anything).
They had my application form in front of them so I used other examples, just in case.
Don’t worry, just know your thing and make sure you can adapt your scenarios to possible questions. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or go back to certain examples if you have something to add.
What I think you should be careful about (from my experience) is to actually answer the QUESTION they ask and of course try and touch as many bullet points as possible by doing so.
Good luck and let’s hope we’ll be colleagues :)

ONE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED PEOPLE? I GIVE UP! Absolutely ridiculous!

Interview for West Yorkshire Yesterday. One person interviewing and one taking notes - they took turns to ask a question. They give you the heading and then ask a question around it. I was really, really nervous - I'm usually fine in Interviews too. I honestly sat in my car afterwards and was convinced I'd messed up. My scores went on Today!! Couldn't believe on so quick. Anyway lovely comments and scored 8,8,8,9 and 8 so I am over the moon. Does anyone know if these scores are added to the test and sift scores? The roles are mainly for Personal Advisors with the 18-24 age group. I was advised they would hope to let people know in a couple of weeks if passed. The soap opera continues.........

Well done Panno! what time was your interview? I had mine yesterday too, I was also really nervous but the interviewers were nice and made me feel at ease, it's all a bit of a blur now and I'm struggling to remember the questions they actually asked me! My scores went on at midday today and I am thrilled to receive 9,9,9,9,9 and fantastic comments and feedback. I am still in shock!
I think I can remember you from the 2009 dwp waiting list forum?

Well you should definetly get a job invite as that is the highest you can score - congrats. Still waiting for results from Staffs/Shrops. Not expecting much as my interviewers were really stand offish and didn't offer much help/assistance in making me feel comfortable. Just wnat to be put out of my misery ;)

Well, just got back from my interview in Brum. Have to say that it was OK. They asked me a couple of questions after I'd finished each statement but I can honestly say that I couldn't have done any more - I gave it my best shot!
I know for a fact that I won't score the rows of 8s and 9s that some people on here have been getting, so not too hopeful, but hey ho will have to wait and see if I scrape through....:p

Oh and I wanted to add that everybody else who was being interviewed seemed to be internal candidates - some still had their JCP name badges on.

    Hi,

Thank you and well done to you, you aced it! You'll be snapped up. In the Afternoon so scores on really quick. Yep was on the 2009 one, how time flies! This time seems more stressful though, although last time I had nothing to base the process on so it could be that.

I have just received my interview result which is 4 3 3 4 4 :( for north london. I really did not expect this low. First 3 question was ok I tried to use star technique -obliviously did not achieved it - but I come up with a bad interviewer and her body language really shut me down. So I was so confused on question 4 and 5. This is why you need to be mentally though. And never ever interviews at lunch time, she was possibly rushing to go to lunch. Shame...
