  • 7,7,8,8,8 for derby. Hope that's good enough.

Anyone with completely amazing scores starting to panic about the reality of actually doing the job lol? I really hadn't given it much thought until now!

4, 4, 4, 5, 5 for North London - doubt i'll be offered anything unless they mark everyone down.

  • Well, have followed this thread since the beginning and even posted on the original DWP thread when i was offered an EO fixed term appointment back in 2009.

Since my contract end at then end i have been working for local government, but have applied to the east london roles after having worked at City JCP in London.

I do actually work in partnership with JCP colleagues in the same office in fact one SEO and an HEO whom i work with have been on the panels for the London roles, and gained some extra info.

Each panel on that day gives the exact same questions to each candidate they see, they mark you within 10 minutes of leaving the room to keep the details fresh.

If when speaking they stop writing notes, stop talking and focus on your current line of talk, as you are no longer saying anything relevant, so make a point of watching for this, also check body language, the SEO in my office said he actually slightly throws his pen down when the info being given is irrelevant.

If in your competency you use the word 'meeting', try and expand by simply adding words like 'planning' for example, it can be the difference between a 7 and an 8.

When giving outcomes or results of your example, give the bigger picture, not just how you succeeded, but others and how it affected the company etc

Don't blurt out to fast, take your time, they need to take as many notes as possible as the more they write, the more 'boxes you are ticking', if you talk too fast they will miss details which could make all the difference.

Scores <3 in any one competency is a fail
Score 4-6 and you have done enough to pass Ok
But you need scores 7-9 to really guarantee a high placing on the list.

Also, when talking if you feel you have lost you train of thought, stop and tell them. They will allow you to start again and you will not be marked down.

I have my interview tomorrow at 10:15 at City JCP.....so fingers crossed, my own advice works.

Well, just got back from my interview in Brum. Have to say that it was OK. They asked me a couple of questions after I'd finished each statement but I can honestly say that I couldn't have done any more - I gave it my best shot!
I know for a fact that I won't score the rows of 8s and 9s that some people on here have been getting, so not too hopeful, but hey ho will have to wait and see if I scrape through....:p

Oh and I wanted to add that everybody else who was being interviewed seemed to be internal candidates - some still had their JCP name badges on.

Can u pl let me know whether u were asked direct questions or whether u were asked from sub headings in Brum??? Thanks.
  • has anyone else had problems with interviews at the follwoing times 12-2pm becasue i concerned follwoing some poster saying they were rushed becasue it was close to lunch-time. my interview is at 1.45pm.

    thanks

    Interview tomorrow, absolutely bricking it.

Physically can't prepare anymore I don't think, know as much of the framework as I can, and know my examples, plus a few more I can pull out, should I need to.

    Oooosh.
