how is the interview like. do they say "give an example of leading" and then leave you to give the example, or do then stop and say i.e "good, what was the reason behind your action". thanks0

yes it's fine to refer to notes. Bullet points or catchy sentences to jog your memory might be ideal though. As long as you are organized in doing it then you will be fine.
Good luck tomorrow.0 -
I had my interview for derbyshire today. Was over alot quicker than I expected. They did throw me a curve ball which totally stumped me. I couldnt even tell you what they asked as it was such a blur. But I can tell you their questions were ALOT more specific than just 'Tell me about a time when you lead...'. They asked me for a different example too - after id rambled on for about 5 minutes. Im pretty sure this is the end of the line for me now.
My advise to anyone going for interview would be to make sure your competences are FLEXIBLE. You dont know what angle theyre going to come at you from.
Anyone know how long it took for their scores to be updated in Derbyshire? I dread to look though :-/0 -

And thanks for my lucky angel...I think I need it!
I'm currently employed and it would also be a promotion for me..maybe thats why I'm putting so much pressure on myself!
I don't have much experience of interviews either so that doesn't help lol
No scores put up today so the waiting continues...
Let's hope you've got it Maid, Marion, lol!
I'm sure we're nearly all too hard on ourselves after an interview. Those who don't make it will be better placed next time just by going through this process.
Not that you'll have to wait until then, of course...
Keep the faith.:)0 -
They explicitly say ( or at least they did to me) that you can refer to your notes as they're telling you what's going to happen. Obviously I wouldn't read straight off them but they're there if you need them. They also give you the chance to add anything to any of your comps at the end of the interview so that might be the time to give your notes a quick glance and have a check. If I could do mine again I'd say I thought I'd said everything but say 'is it ok if I have a quick look at my notes to make sure I haven't missed anything?'
I don't know, but they can't expect you to remember it all. And by just making sure shows you're keen and thorough. I wish I'd had the presence of mind to do it!0 -
Does anyone have any idea as to how long it will take after all interviews have finished in a region to hear either way? You'd hope that as they don't do any checks until you've got an offer, and all the numbers are now in that it would be fairly prompt... Or am I dreaming?0

Has anyone had their interview scores back yet from West London? I've been waiting since 2nd March and I'm itching to know what I got!! I check it like 4 times a day! This can't be healthy!!0

Hi Dan,
In my region the interviews ended on 8 March and I was told that it had been planned to send out all letters on, or shortly after, 21-03-12.
This may be region specific. However, as the new Youth Contract is up and running from April, and we are meant to be in post by, or as soon after, 12 April it may be that all regions need to be sorted in a timely manner.
My understanding is that the results of interviews will be collated and graded by interview score. If there are fifty vacancies in a region they will look to see what the maximum score is that produces 50 candidates. For example, if they looked at all people who scored 33 at interview they may have 45 candidates at that level. If they go to 32 points they may have 55. They would use this score as their first point. They would back track to sift to pick out the top 5 of those ten people who scored 32 and add them to the list to be offered places, checking the on line test if there were not five who scored higher than the others.
However, some of these 50 chosen may find their desired locations have gone (with the higher scorers who have preference of location) so may not accept the offer. Therefore a reserve list is prepared that will be active for 6 months. They may go down to 30 points then and use the extra people as a reserve list to cover the vacancies left by the first choices who didn’t accept or take up their post and those who leave within say the first four months.
If this is not precise, it’s very near to it. I hope that makes things a little clearer.
