    Well I've had one interview this week and it was from a region that is asking pretty left field questions. For example questions were so vague they were like this;

Can you give me an example of when compliance hindered your resources and finances to implement a project.
Can you give an example of how you dealt with leading a group of people that were at the company longer than you. (leading)
Can you give an example of how you overcame a customer need with limited resources. (customer service)
Can you give an example of how you developed within a diverse group of people across all backgrounds. (building)

I spoke to a friend who works at the job centre and this is because the success rate is as high as 1/10 in some offices due to applicants applying ofr certain offices.

I myself have my 2nd interview tomorrow in London. Getting up at 5am driving to london for 9.15am appointment. No notes no scriptd answers. Just me and what i have done. I will be myself again. listen to the question. be honest remember an experience and just talk about it. 5 questions 5 different jobs.

I really hope this isn't true. Those questions sound much too specific to me; for example, you could satisfy every bullet point in the "leading" competency without the people you led having been in the organisation for longer than you. Where does it say that you need experience of this?! Also, where is there any reference to limited resources under the customer service competency?

    Believe what you will Quijibo.

The vast majority of people who have been already have said they were asked straight forward, uncomplicated questions. That siad, a colleague on the same region as I was asked about finance at her panel, but not in a complicated manner. Just know your evidence and if you don't understand the question...ask! It does not go against you and shows you're prepared to seek help when needed.

    Thanks

Check out post #3722 which I left earlier.

If that's true of all regions then you'll be struggling MMM.
I hope I'm wrong, but I know that in the region mentioned (not Essex BTW) this is certainly the case.

Good luck either way...I hope you're telling me I'm full of s**t next week.

Maybe they're still trying to count your score you did so well. Let's hope so. You shoudnever worry over things that you no longer have control over.

    Please, do enjoy your weekend.

Haha only because I don't think there will be any updates over the weekend. Not because I think I have self control :-P

well I am Essex too and striving for this job has now taken up three months of my life.

It's easy to say keep applying for others but when you've come this far it gets a bit like some sort of xfactoresk army recruitment programme.

    It is keeping me awake

It keeps me checking this site

    It gives me the hump

It gives me zero confidence in the whole process.

    Anyway....

We'll all be here tomorrow, supporting each other whether by reading, contributing or whatever, but what will be will be.

    Night x

I think it extremely unlikely that anyone will be asked the sorts of questions SaveTheBadger advertises in his somewhat suspect post.

There are five competencies, and a set of instructions provided (bullet points on those competencies) as to how to respond to questions on them. And that's it. If for some reason I get asked a b*llshit Q like any of Badger's ludicrous examples, I'll be on the f*cker's case like a shot: 'what competency are you talking about? What aspect of it? Please rephrase the question!'.

But it's about time we had another troll, one imagines. How we now miss you, Wanda.
