People! My interview feedback has just arrived.....

    6 5 4 6 7!!!

And the 7 was for the one I was questioned on! It seems that despite my nerves I explained them fully enough to be considered worthy. I'm a bit excited but as I understand it this means I will just be placed on a merit list and this is just yet another waiting game? I'm shaking like a leaf typing this!

    Well Done :T
Hope you are super proud of yourself!!! YOU HAVE DONE FANTASTIC!!!!

Just need to hope that mine goes as good as yours now :)

Congrats - I'm sure you are proud of yourself. As you say now comes another wait. I hope there really are some job offers at the end of this process for some people. Just to be placed on a merit list after all this run around and be informed that 'we will call you if a job comes up' would really irk me!!

I drank those before my interview, you need to re-stock to get everybody through this horrendous process.

I did once apply for MI5 and it was nothing compared to this!

Haha, I agree completely! How ironic is that? Well done on your interview. :)

    Hello everyone.

I have my interview tomorrow and am trying to prepare but not sure what to do.

I have my P45s all ready, will be getting a photo later on, have my passport.

Now I'm getting worried as reading this forum lots of people are taking notes. What kind of notes are we allowed to take in?

Also what format are the questions? Are there just five questions, one about each competency or are they laid out in normal interview style questions?

Is there anything special I should do tonight/tomorrow?

I was never able to open the documents on the website so could not read the file 'you and your interview' or the 'Information on competencies'. When I contact the website they sent me some files but not these too.

    Hope you can help

    Many thanks!

Sorry if these have already been answered, I'm looking back through the thread but there's an awful lot to read.

Go to the DWP website, and under 'current vacancies' the interview guidance is there as .pdfs

Seems to be 5 questions per interview - just answer the question as a story, state the situation first, result last, and elaborate as much as possible in the middle about the actions you took, the benefits of them, and any alternatives you considered.

    Elaborate, elaborate, elaborate :)

Re competencies I would say don't just look at the headings look at all the bullet points to get an idea of the kind of questions they might ask you on that particular comp as each one covers quite a few aspects. Consensus seems to be that you can take notes in - maybe bullet points to help you remember your examples. Don't know if I am going to do that yet..... Good Luck :)

Thank you so much for the replies :) Will have a look at the interview guidance.

Any more advice is very much appreciated :)

Oh one extra question. On the email it asks for you to bring along a passport sized photo. However on the you and your interview document it only asks you to bring a passport sized photo if you do not have a passport. As I am taking a valid passport do I still need to get a passport sized photo?
