I applied to South, East + West London, no interview invite for me yet
. I scored 74%, had my competencies marked by south london (not my home district)
One day I will be a [STRIKE]respectable[/STRIKE] Civil Servant.Until then, I will be a secret MSE poster :shhh:0 -

I go by what I was told when speaking to the Recruitment Line earlier on this week.
And I still believe that lowering the pass mark for East London had a "hidden agenda" as it is pretty obvious...
hmmm maybe. Who in particular do you think they are accommodating by lowering the pass mark? What is the point in that. You can still keep your agendas in the 70+ percentiles.0 -
About East London
I'm wondering if they really didn't look at the competencies but only at the online test when selecting.
I've got an interview with 76% at the test but if they only interview 3 candidates/job and there are 50 positions availabale that would put me (and gettingready) in the top 150 with our scores (which are not that great). I know that East London had the highest number of applications out of all districts. So, what really happened? Is it possible that the test scores were so low amongst the thousands that applied that I got an interview with only 76%? I seriously doubt that. I'll perhaps call the Rec.Line on Monday as I really worked my a** off on those examples and would like some feedback.
I am guessing that they haven't read them. This is an educated guess based on my friends application where the competencies were filled out with no more than 25-30 words in each box because it was done last minute. Yet they have an interview.0 -

Somethings don't need to be said out loud:) You either get it or not. Some people been there, done that, seen the video and just 'know'.............0 -

Yeah, I understand what's being implied. I just like to think the world makes sense you know. Improve efficiency in your department rather than pandering to stats. But I guess it is what it is.0 -
As far as I know from my former manager (in West London) last week they were selecting the Band Ds for the interview panel and they'll sent the invites for West London next week if all goes well.
Do you know if they are scoring competencies? Mine are still awaiting review, not even had my South scores carried over . I don't remember if anyone has posted marks for West LondonOne day I will be a [STRIKE]respectable[/STRIKE] Civil Servant.Until then, I will be a secret MSE poster :shhh:0 -

That will be upsetting to those who sweated blood over theirs!:eek:0 -
That's shocking!!!
I've put so much work into those bl***y examples! And I think I got them right too, not to brag... If I knew...
No wonder all those "competent" people work in JC!
Yes it is shocking, but they are very competent, lol. But it just makes me wonder what criteria / agenda / score they are using to invite people to interview. Or is it a lucky dip?
At least you have an interview though. Even if you had some feedback, it all depends on who marks it. You might have scored all 7's in application, use the same ones in interview and your interviewers deem them all 3's. You're better off I reckon collating information from this thread and re-reading the competency guide on the DWP site.0
