DWP Recruiting Again - 2012

Hi
I work for DWP and they upped the pass mark as over 60,000 people applied for the posts, pass mark is now 90%
I applied for promotion got 75% on my tests but got an email saying the above
I spoke to Rec Line myself and was told 35% (for East London) only earlier this week, besides as I scored 71 and got an interview email based on that so definitely not 90% pass mark.
Pls note I am talking about East London here.0 -

mine defo says one hour and all the slots available were well spaced out i.e. 9/10/11/2/3/4pm. Obviously they are not expecting everyone to take a whole hour but that is the time they have allocated for my region I guess0 -
The East London slots were 45min from what I remember0

Sorry, but this doesn't stack up: some districts raised pass marks, yes. Some did not. Original pass was 40%, iirc, up to 90 in one area I think (although they are more interested in competencies than actual mathematical ability).
Working for the DWP, I would have thought you'd have known that.
(Yes, I am a civil servant, btw).0 -
Wanda?
Trying to mess with people's heads again?

you have to ask yourself though, if this area has had the most applications and they are not marking competencies, wouldn't you raise the pass mark as opposed to lowering it to the depths of 35%, in order to cut down on successful applicants?0 -
I need email address for anyone who needs the links as I've tried to copy and paste but it's too long for each address0

I think they proably didn't have enough applications, hence the lowering..0 -

LOL
wat would we do without a bit of humour on this forum?
Congrats on the NHS offer (and the DWP invite, albeit perhaps too little too late for you...it's great to hear good news:beer:0 -
Stargazer - thanks
JessStar - I do not believe for one sec that there was not enough applicants for /from East London.
Lowering the pass mark says something to me about the quality of those applicants and DWP trying to erm.... be very PC and accomodate - at the cost of all people who later use the service.
Enough said0
