It is so good to have this forum - imagine people who have applied for those jobs and do NOT have the info sharing/support as we here?

Amby12, sorry to hear you heard nothing from East London - I had the email re interview yesterday around midday... so did quite a few people from here.

And I wonder why is that?

People from same area unite - compare your scores and see if there is any pattern to who got interview and who did not....

Esmerellda, sorry about that.. surely something else and possibly better will come up for you

Thanks Gettingready, I had a fair idea I was out of the running anyway as my competancies were marked at 1 across the board quite early on, but it is nice to have confirmation, and hopefully other Derbyshire peeps will be getting their confirmations one way or another shortly too. My status only changed from 'on hold' at lunchtime today.

Update on the Northwest... They are hoping to have the sift input completed by 02.03.2012. The recruitment team will then upload the information onto CS Jobs & applicants should find out within 7 working days of the upload if they move to next stage and information about how to book themselves an interview. Interviewing should hopefully commence on 21.03.2012

From what I've heard there will also be an additional test at interview. This is for Northwest so other districts may decide otherwise. If you've got as far as interview stage then I don't really think this test should worry anyone.

As for the 35% passmark. this was always the case for the online test. If you got less than this you received an automatic e-mail to advise your application would not be taken any further. (Out of the 65k that applied about 33k got above this mark. It was then left to each district to decide on how they would sift further). So although you may have passed the test it did not necessarily mean you had got through to the next stage. This is determined by each districts sift strategy.

In hindsight and knowing a majority of applicants applied for multiple poss it would have made more sense for the competency sift to be done centrally, eliminating the inconsistent marking we are seeing, the results put on a central system and then each district to decide who they wish to interview according to their desired pass rates.

Good luck to all that have had interviews booked :)

Thanks so much for this -- just hope my competencies are enough to get an interview...

Sorry to hear this. I also had my rejection email after my competencies apparently didn't score high enough, although there was no feedback under any of them, each one said 'see previous comment'!! Which leads me to think they just put a load of random scores on there and didn't even read them, sounds like you had the same - I am trying to challenge it, not sure whether it will help but it makes me feel better doing something. Chin up.:grouphug:

Did you apply to any other areas. I would still query your scores especially as others have had messages saying emailed in error. Did you get the email to your email box or did you have to look in your feedback. I'm not holding out much hope either and I have done the job before. Best of luck and hope something comes up for you soon I think this process has been awful they don't seem to realise they are messing with peoples lives. All I get when I ask at work is "there were over 40000 applied". Well what did they expect you would think they would have known this as they are dealing with the unemployed, and put in the right arrangements.
