  • Just got a rejection email for SE Wales.:(

Not entirely unexpected as my competency scores were low but the on-line test was over 90%.

I haven't read through all the previous posts here but a bit puzzled why some areas are completely ignoring the competency scores however others are using them as their only basis to reject applicants.
Is it because they had too many applications in some areas to read through everyone's competency statements ?
There appears to be a lack of consistency in the process and it's becoming a post code lottery.
  • Hi

Got invited to interview too today.

Just wondered if anybody has applied for Gloucs and South west as i wanted Bristol but interview slots i can access are Bath, Gloucester and Weston. Thought Bristol may have been on there.

They could be going through in alphabetical order - my surname is in the first 5 of the alphabet. Also my comps were defintely sifted by B'ham whereas I'm not sure that yours have been from what you have reported. Hopefully you will hear something by the end of the weekend - I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Sorry to hear that, it does seem very unfair some people have interviews based on the online test only.:(

And some scored really high on those and did not get an interview as their [articular area the pass mark was much higher...

Really, REALLY weird way of "recruiting"

I think thats just down to where space is available to hold interviews. There ~might~ be some slots at Eagle House JC in Bristol but most are going to be at the 3 you named. Where you get interviewed will not have any bearing on where you get posted though.
  • Congrats to those who got interviews and to gettingready on the NHS job! Still waiting to find out if my comps were good enough.

Does anyone know how they're handling multiple applications now? I haven't gotten competency scores for anywhere other than my home district so I'm guessing that they'll be the ones used in all my other applications but when it comes to interviews is it the case that if any place want to interview you then you'll be interviewed or only if your "home" wants to??? Hmm...

Np idea but from the email I got:

If you have applied and been successful at the application stage for
more than one vacancy you will only be interviewed once.
    Please note
although this notification details only one of the vacancies for which
you have applied we are aware you have applied for other locations.
Your candidate status for the additional locations will remain "on
hold" until the results of your single interview is known. You need to
schedule a slot to confirm your attendance for the vacancy listed on
this notification. Your results from this interview will be carried
across for all vacancies for which you have applied and for which you
have met the standard to be taken forward to interview.
