If that is the case then i can kiss good bye to South London too as live in Kent - oh well

    Best of luck everyone

I'm in a slightly more hopeful position as I applied for two posts in the same area (North Wales) with one being Welsh-speaking essential and the other not. Was rejected due to not getting a high enough mark for the English posts so hopefully there can't be hundreds trying for the Welsh posts so I may scrape in to interview. Fingers (still) crossed...

Remember that 35% is the percentile. IE there are minimal point between the centiles meaning the difference between 99% and 35% isn't really very much. It's about attaining a standard. Someone falling into the 35th percentile would actually have had a reasonable score and 'passed' the test. 35% is not beyond a joke, it's an acceptable score.

C'mon - do I really want to have an adviser/DWP employee (does anyone????) who got such low marks?

All other districts seem to have put UP their marks, East London got the lowest of low from what I see on here.

That causes all sort of issues - including the volume of applications they now have to go through (competencies check) with such a low pass mark for online test.

And no, I am not desperate to get this job, I was pushed to apply for it (unfortunately) but the frustration of such a long wait...

Got an interview for something that I actually want this week - fingers crossed for that one ;)
  • i agree gettingready...maybe that's part of the current problem with high unemployment, inept advisers.

It certainly is - in East London... I know as that is where I go and that is where people I talk to go too.

Some of them do not have 2 brain cells to rub together, speak very poor English and have massive problems checking what date it is 2 weeks from now (JC employees not unemployed) so what is the solution?

Set up a really low score for the next lot?

Jesusssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss - there has got to be a reason for it, to enable some that should never be in a position to "advise" or anything remotely close to get those jobs...

    Rant over, sighhhh

So much for them starting people by the beginning of April - there is no way that is going to happen if they haven't even got everyone marked re competencies!! This recruitment drive has been the worst one I have ever been part of and it does not give me a warm and cosy feeling regarding the possibility of working for DWP :(

Don't be so jealous. You're applying to help get people into work - what if they land a better job than you, will you start abusing them too?

You said it yourself. You have 'landed' these scores after getting a VERY poor online score yet you still can't help yourself and continue to go on and on about them and even go so far as to say they are the best in the area!! You are just laughable. Good luck with the interview, you will need it. This isn't abuse btw, just wait until you are in the job, you will learn all about abuse!!! Oh.... and I'm already a permanent EO so you won't be landing yourself with anything better than I already have :D
