  • That's totally right Scoots. It was just a way to bump up the numbers for areas with low a number of applicants. And of course it's another reason why we shouldn't feel too bad if we're dumped: it really is marginal stuff, ATEOTD.

Hi, just to let you know I didn't get through the competencies for the Scottish regions. The feedback I have been given is that my answers were more like descriptions of the jobs I have done in relation to the competencies. Whereas they should have been specific examples of what i did and outcomes etc.

Oh well... Good luck to those waiting to hear from the DWP.
  • Email received yesterday:-

"RE: 1228130 - Executive Officer/Band C Northumbria, Tyne and Wear

You recently completed the Civil Service Initial Sift On Line Assessment.
Whilst you met the minimum pass mark for the Online Assessmentdue to the volume of candidates in this exercise a raised pass mark has been used and unfortunately you failed to meet this pass mark. On this occasion we will not be inviting you to the next stage of the recruitment process.
As you met the minimum pass mark you will not be required to re-take the test for any future exercises you may apply for at the same grade. This exemption is valid for a period of 6 months from the date the original test was completed".

From what I've read on here I didn't expect to get an interview anyway because my comp's were only 3,3,3,2,3 even though I was quite pleased with my 80% online score.

    Email received today:-

    "1228130 – Executive Officer Northumbria & Tyne& Wear

If you have received any correspondence on 21st February regarding the online test mark being raised for the above recruitment exercise please ignore.
I can only apologise this should not have been issued, we have had technical difficulties and your application is still being reviewed".

DWP - I really don't know what to say about this (dis)organisation!

Does anyone know what percentile they have gone down to in North West region for sift purposes? Has anyone had email yet from North West for interview or rejection?

    Thanks

Not sure about the percentile. My application still says Situation Test Complete for the North West, but I got my competency scores through this morning, 8,8,8,8,8. Not had an e-mail either way about the interview.

    Hi Keyser,
Well done on your scores, I think the highest I've seen on this forum from the North West. Received my scores from North West last week and was very disappointed (4,4,5,5,5,). Feedback bland and looked like it had been cut and pasted. It would be really helpful if you could post or pm me with your examples so could see what a high scoring one looks like to help me next time as don't think i'll be offered interview with my scores. Thanks

Feedback for me was also short and non-detailed, "Well-written good example" for each competency statement. Will PM you one of mine to have a look at.
  • Any danger of me ever receiving my scores?
  • My W Yorkshire competency statement scores have now all gone to 1's, with the following note attached:
Review Greater Manchester East and West recruitment campaign to access your feedback. If you are an external candidate (i.e. not currently employed in the Civil Service), and have progressed to the sift and/or interview stage, you will receive one set of sift feedback, and one set of interview feedback (if you have been interviewed), no matter now many applications you have submitted. If you are currently employed in the Civil Service and have applied both for external exercises and internal (Civil Service only) exercises you will receive separate feedback for the internal and external exercises.

My 'home' region is North West so I presume they are taking my competency scores from that region and the 5x1's on my W Yorkshire competencies are intended to reflect that?

Derbyshire competencies still say 5,5,5,4,4 though!
  • Just had my rejection letter from Kent

    Dear <<STU_FIRSTNAME>>,

    RE:Executive Officer/Band C Kent.

Thank you for your recent application for a position in Department for Work and Pensions.

Whilst you met the required pass mark for the Online Assessment test due to the volume of candidates in this exercise a further sift of application forms was required. Unfortunately the competency examples on your application form did not meet the necessary standard for the above vacancy.
On this occasion we will not be inviting you to the next stage of the recruitment process. If you have applied for other vacancies you will receive separate notifications about the outcome of those applications.
Please note – if you have applied and are successful at the application stage for more than one vacancy you will only be required to attend one interview.
As you met the minimum pass mark for the Online Assessment test you will not be required to re-take the test for any future exercises you may apply for at the same grade. This exemption is valid for a period of 6 months from the date the original test was completed.

Hard luck. Did this go through to your e-mail address or was it only on the CS Jobs website once you'd logged-in?
