I've applied for Sussex/Surrey and mine has been on hold for weeks now.

Not really sure what's going on...

Thanks and good luck to you as well. :)

Many thanks for this, it is just the sort of advice I need as an external candidate and a poor interviewee. I was going to ask if they ask for questions as in regular interviews but you have answered that point. :T

Thanks also to the FM who posted the link to DWP interview prep PDF, I thought I had included it in my multiquote.

Its just been so helpful having people to talk to who are going through the same stage....

Thats some of the people on my floor getting their rejection letters now, so I would feel bad asking them for help or what they think is happening next.

Just so thankful for this site :D

I only scored 58% on online test and have just receive the following from Tyne and Wear

You recently completed the Civil Service Initial Sift On Line Assessment.
Whilst you met the minimum pass mark for the Online Assessment due to the volume of candidates in this exercise a raised pass mark has been used and unfortunately you failed to meet this pass mark. On this occasion we will not be inviting you to the next stage of the recruitment process.
As you met the minimum pass mark you will not be required to re-take the test for any future exercises you may apply for at the same grade. This exemption is valid for a period of 6 months from the date the original test was completed.

If you have any further questions about the assessment process on this occasion, please contact DWP on 0845 603 2694.

So they never even looked at my competencies, I feel gutted about the whole process to be honest
  • Hi guys,

Need help from people who have been offered an interview.

There are six documents that are available under view attachments that I need for my interview but cannot access as my internet times out before they load. Is this just me or is it a wider issue?

    Many Thanks

I just rang the *help-line*, and spoke with a right charmer.

I was told that I'd not received an Interview date as yet for Derbyshire, because they'e doing them in order off a merit system, and that my scores of 25 for the Competencies (6,6,5,4,4) probably just weren't good enough.

He also said that there were no grounds to complain about Competency scorings, and that I could have an email address if I wished but "nothing will come of it, so its up to you if you want to make that effort".

He told me my S.Yorks applications was still awaiting sift, because they were only marking scores over 68%. I pointed out I'd got 76%, so he changed his answer to "well, I dont know then".

You think they call it a Help-line for pure sarcasm?
  • Still not heard anything for east London getting very annoying now as everyone else seems to be getting there scores!!!

Well i got some bad news today

I scored 96% in the test. My competencies were scored 4,5,6,6,6 27/45. I have received an email from dwp saying that my application was unsuccessful due to my competencies this is for all three regions in Derbyshire, Birmingham and Shropshire.

Stunned I was an external candidate. I called the number provided in the email and they said i was 2 short. Only scores 29/45 are being accepted for interview in these regions.

Some regions scores may vary. Some competencies arent being marked due to applicants.

If you get invited to interview there a list of attachments to print and take with you. On one of the forms it states you need to show payslips/p60's/p45 etc to prove your work history i presume.
