    Hi guys,

Need help from people who have been offered an interview.

There are six documents that are available under view attachments that I need for my interview but cannot access as my internet times out before they load. Is this just me or is it a wider issue?

    Many Thanks

Hi, Yes I booked my interview today and am also unable to the six documents

    What for?

I do nto keep anything from past jobs, the NI Number should be enough to see where/when you woprked surely?

    Am I missing something?????

They've probably asked for these in anticipation of a CRB check.
In any case you should definitely keep your P60s at the very least. In 2007 HMRC said they were going to change my tax code as I had underpaid in 2005 by £300+. I had been working for CS at the time so I knew I couldn't have underpaid. It turned out they had homed in on an untaxed amount (which was added years I was purchasing for pension). Not only was it a bona fide non-taxable payment, but it was PCSPS - the same pension scheme as HMRC. You'd think they would have known.

The onus was then on me to prove that I didn't owe them £300+. Luckily I had my P60 and payslips to prove what it was. I also used to work in payroll so I could present them with proper computations.
Were they apologetic? Hell no. They were extremely arrogant actually. If I hadn't known a bit about tax I would have been robbed blind!
    Keep P60s - you can't get copies!

Well I just checked my applications and Staffs/Shrops still shows 'on hold' and 'awaiting review' and Black Country shows 'Situation Test completed' and awaiting review' and both show nothing under feedback.

However my Birmingham one which had comp scores last week of 77676 and basic feedback stating either strong or acceptable examples given has now been changed to all 1's with the same comments

I called the recruitment line and she told me that was because Staffs is the one who are going to give my marks and propogate them to the other districts as that is my home district and that is why B'ham has changed to 1's!!! I pointed out that giving me scores and then negating them wasn't very good or professional and she agreed and gave me the e-mail to complain to - I had taken screen copies of the previous scores for my records!!

She then couldn't tell me when Staffs/Shrops will be giving me scores as they (the recruitment line) weren't being told anything about when people could expect results due to the large number of applicants. Has anyone got scores from Staffs/Shrops yet?

This entire process is growing more farcical by the minute :(
  • Hi all

I have been following your posts for the past week or so and i just wanted to share some info i got today. East of england results have been posted today luckily i got an interview even though my comps were marked as 4,4,4,4,6 which is pretty bog standard however there was a piece of information on my email that may help people "If you have applied and been successful at the application stage for more than one internal vacancy you will only be interviewed once. Please note although this notification details only one of the vacancies for which you have applied we are aware you have applied for other locations. Your candidate status for the additional locations will remain "on hold" until the results of your single interview is known." I am a current employer of the DWP and was also emailed this information from the PCS union "
    Internal Exercises

In the case ofinternal exercises applicants have the right to raise a grievance against aline managers decision using the usual DWP grievance process and it should beraised within 15 days of the decision.

Individuals alsohave the right to raise an appeal but only on the grounds of mismanagement andthis must be made within 28 days of the decision.

The process - takenfrom DWP Selection procedures (para 12)- is as follows

[*]Applicants must put the complaint in writing stating their reasons for believing that the process has been mismanaged and send it to the manager with responsibility for the recruitment exercise
[*]It must be made within 4 weeks (28 calendar days) of the decision or 4 weeks from the date that the individual became aware that an aspect of the process concerned them
[*]If the complaint is received after 28 calendar days then the circumstances should be taken into account. If a decision is made not to consider the complaint because it was received out of time, the applicant must be informed in writing
[*]The selection manager or business partner should deal with the complaint unless they are named in the complaint. In these cases the complaint should be referred to their immediate manager or another nominated employee
[*]If no mismanagement has been found, then the applicant should be informed in writing that the original decision has been upheld
[*]Where mismanagement of the process has occurred, it will need to be decided if the mismanagement has affected the outcome. Then the appropriate action must be taken depending on:
[*]What stage of the process the mismanagement occurred
      [*]When the complaint/appeal was received
[*]What stage the overall selection exercise is at when the mismanagement was discovered.

If the complaint of mismanagement is foundto be unfounded there is still a right of grievance

      External Exercises

For an externalexercise applicants can complain if they are unhappy with the process or theoutcome as follows (extract from DWP Selection procedures para 12) –

[*]Applicants who are unhappy with the outcome. These complaints will be dealt with and replied to in line with normal delivery business customer service standards. If the complaints are about the selection policy, it may be useful for Line managers to liaise with the relevant HR Business Partner
[*]Applicants who feel that some or all of the selection policy or process has not been adhered to (i.e. mismanagement). The applicant will need to give specific reasons as to why they feel the selection policy/process has not been followed.

        EqualityMonitoring

The DWP is required to conduct equalitymonitoring and keep complete and comprehensive records of any selectionexercise for audit purposes to ensure that the process is fair. We will be asking for these statistics oncethe exercise is over to ensure that the DWP has had due regard to the EqualityDuty. I hope this information is of some use to some of you. Wishing you all good luck

I found that I couldn't open them on the laptop or netbook but could on my pc. They are word docs so don't know if that is anything to do with it.

Well i got some bad news today

I scored 96% in the test. My competencies were scored 4,5,6,6,6 27/45. I have received an email from dwp saying that my application was unsuccessful due to my competencies this is for all three regions in Derbyshire, Birmingham and Shropshire.

Stunned I was an external candidate. I called the number provided in the email and they said i was 2 short. Only scores 29/45 are being accepted for interview in these regions.

Some regions scores may vary. Some competencies arent being marked due to applicants.

Well if thats the case then my partner wont be getting an interview as she scored 24 with a 96% score in the test.

She applied for the Bham & Solihull region only but has yet to find out about interview.

Same here! But they haven't used my 'home' district, they have used the first sift scores I received [B'ham]. My BC scores have changed, they are all 1s now and it says please refer to B'ham scores/feedback. This actually works in my favour because I received lower scores [for the same examples] for BC.
Still don't know if it's enough to get through to interview though!

Ok, so just been on the phone to the 'help line' and they have just said that my competencies haven't been scored at all, and nor will they be. Not feeling great about that as I really wanted the feedback on those to prep for my interview and in addition it is just down right annoying as I spent a week writing them!

So apparently there must have been a smaller number of applicants in the Southern Sussex area
as they have invited everyone for interview and have deemed it unnecessary to
        sift competencies.

Has anyone else on here applied for Southern Sussex who have been invited for interview without receiving competency scores?

In light of the fact that no applicant who applied for this area will be receiving any feedback, it would be helpful if we could find out how many people have been invited for interview and how many positions there are at least! I feel like I'll be going in to this interview totally blind without any feedback!!!
