In every country where they have cut federal spending, unemployment has risen. Growth has stagnated.
In America where they have a one trillion debt, they have had 22months of pro job creation. In those 22months, unemployment has fallen by 33%. Also in America they cut VAT, the tory government increased VAT creating inflation.
I have a mortgage and a 5month old child do you have any idea how much pressure that is? I'm not becoming another single parent family.
We all have pressures. I see you applied to North London and got good results, so maybe they will be the same in the other areas you have applied. Not guaranteed though, as you can tell from others comments. Fingers (southern ones) crossed for you anyway.

I am in the same boat, got through to interview for 1 area, than the other area, same competencies scored 333333, can you pm email address to me, as I tried ringing helpline, was on hold for 15 minsJust got all 1's for West Yorks!!
Recruitment helpline have given me an email address to send my issues to, as they agree 'it should not have happened' especially as I used the exact same competencies for each application.0 -

I apologise in advance for again going off topic here but I just have to point out that in the US unemployment was around 7.5 and 8 percent in January 09 and was at 8.5 percent roughly in January 2012 so it has in actuality risen in the last 22 months. The reason they claim it dropped was because it reached a high towards the end of 09 of around 10% which didn't significantly drop until January last year, their pro-jobs claim is far less significant overall than is claimed, over the last two years it has barely managed to plug the gap and it remains to be seen whether this stabilisation will continue in the long run. In fact the number of long term unemployed in the US has changed very little despite their pro-jobs plans.
Also while they have trillions in debt they are a far larger country. in terms of debt per GDP they currently sit around 110% while the UK has closer to 90%.
If we were in America right now, we would be in a far worse position arguably in terms of debt and unemployment. Sure VAT went up over here, however compared to other countries our rates overall are far better and lower than other similar economies. The US also relies more heavily on consumer spending to help fuel it's economic growth compared the UK and therefore it more readily makes sense in the US to lower VAT as a stimulus to get people spending more and thus encourage growth.
Back on subject, congrats on the interview vindallou! I'm keeping my ears pricked for news on interviews still. Hopefully DWP will email this week!0 -

Ridiculous process, I'm in the same boat as Mommarat and a few others on here in that I've already done the job for 18 months and am now having to re-apply for my position. To add insult to injury, I'm even covering the role at the moment due to a staff shortage in my office!
I've applied to three districts, one was internal only which I had my scores back for of 6,6,4,4,4 about 2 weeks go. Nothing for the other 2 districts as of yet.
It's shocking how there has been no consistency, no information (even us current DWP staff are completely in the dark, my manager also claims to know nothing).
I feel sorry for each and every person currently going through this ridiculous process, It has been demoralising for me and I am lucky enough to have a job at the moment.0 -

Aye. Have applied for a number of jobs in my time. This one not only took the biscuit, it devoured the biscuit.
I'd sooner apply for a job by donning a marshmallow costume and pirouetting around my town square next to a troupe of drunken amateur firebreathers (who would probably know the difference in nuance between an example and a description, unlike whoever wrote the application instructions).
Soz, that was cathartic.
Wish you well! 0 -

The process is a farce! For everyone who lost their jobs last year to be told there was nothing that could be done to keep them and then those same jobs are advertised some months later!
And for those who are currently covering the void the fta's left to be told they are no longer good enough!
DWP have no sense no loyalty and no bloody clue!0
