Hi everyone - thanks for feedback on my competencies- Luckily I got an email yesterday and have my interview booked for sat 25th at 9am so fingers crossed! Does anyone have any idea of what to expect at interview? I have seen it will be competency based again so can I use previous app ones or should I write new? I have always been given interview guidance info before a DWP int before - seems a bit strange not to get it this time! x

Interview guidance on their website. Good luck for the interview.

I don't know if you noticed, up there in your cosy friendly village/town, but there are 3 million unemployed countrywide, so any chance at a decent job will be jumped on.

thats what you get from a tory government.

In every country where they have cut federal spending, unemployment has risen. Growth has stagnated.

In America where they have a one trillion debt, they have had 22months of pro job creation. In those 22months, unemployment has fallen by 33%. Also in America they cut VAT, the tory government increased VAT creating inflation.

I have a mortgage and a 5month old child do you have any idea how much pressure that is? I'm not becoming another single parent family.

I am responsible for booking Flexible Support Fund interviews. Due to claimants receiving short notice from employers, it is difficult to book them in the same day, resulting in claimants having to push back start dates.

I identified a need to have an extra colleague trained up and set up a meeting with my line manager to put myself forward. Now fully trained, I pick up these interviews, meaning our claimants can be off flowed quicker by removing barriers such as travel expenses.

I further identified the initial application form claimants complete did not ask all the relevant questions. I liaised with colleagues to enable us to share good practice and identify opportunities to improve customer service.

I used the feedback I obtained to create a new form, enabling staff to assess if an interview should be booked. I bullet pointed on the back of the new form items/circumstances an award cannot be considered for which enables myself, colleagues and claimants to identify if they are eligible to apply.

As a result of my actions, claimants can be moved smoothly into employment completing their journey with us as soon as possible.

The work experience initative was introduced. I developed my knowledge, ensuring I was confident with the referral process. I did this, even though it was not part of my job role, because I regularly cover advisor diaries.

I ask a series of leading questions to enable the claimant to identify herself how work experience would improve employment opportunities. By doing this I was able to build trust by listening and offering advice on the benefits of this initative.

My claimant secured a placement at a supermarket, but given short notice. There was not availability to conduct a prestart interview at such short notice. I decided to liaise with the host myself (it is normally done through colleague at station street) so I could determine what action could be taken to help my claimant and the host. I negotiated, agreeing that the claimant could start on the date given but was to be allowed to leave early to attend an appointment with me.

If I had not directly liaised with the host my claimant would not of start this placement and the host may have withdrew future placements. By being flexible I was able to meet expectations of both customers.

    Well done!!!! :D
  • Has anyone had results for Staffs/Shropshire that didn't apply for other areas and had the scores copied over?

I havent heard a dickie bird, i had results for brum and they havent copied them over (not yet anyway) Results wasnt great so i really dont no what to think anymore. Havent heard from Black Country either. Im starting to think that maybe if you havent heard it will be a rejection email. They will probably contact who they need to ecause of time constraints. The rest will get left untill last. Just an assumption on my part. This is so annoying i wish they would just let us no one way or the other.
  • thanks shiraz & livilove......

got my interview today, I had a choice between 29th February til 9th March, different times earliest 9.30am, latest 3.30pm.

My competency scores were 4,6,4,4,4 if that helps anyone and my online test was 94%. Good Luck to everyone else still waiting!!

I really really want this, so going to research everything possible for the interview haha!! :rotfl:
