Thanks Drwho, I also received this email a short while ago. However, my problem is that they haven't responded to my emails and each time I've tried to call them, I haven't got through so I am worried that I might not be able to resolve this problem before the closing date and as a result, am hoping to complete a new application before the 23rd. Not sure if this is possible though.

I wouldn't advise you to rely on getting a response to an email, there are reasons other than the sheer number they will be receiving for why people are unlikely to get a response to an email query.

O and do you have to apply separately to different districts?.... that seems a bit silly!

    Yes

It increases you chances of getting an interview and improves your chances of being successful at interview.

The main recruitment role of the website is to sift applications for interview (which will be done at district level I suspect) and this means each district will be able to prioritize the best candidates against those which it has interviewed.

Of course its less efficient which is why they use a online test as an automated way of sifting out only the best candidates, these types of exercise may end up having 2000-3000 applications per district, if there are 100 jobs then they will probably want to interview 300-500 people.

Does anyone know what the correct file name is for the Coventry and Warwickshire etc. working locations document, the link given to it on the apology email doesn't work? Others that I've tried seem to be OK so I suspect they've either got the name a bit wrong in the link or they've accidentally deleted the document from the server.

    Am still a bit confused.
I have a score of 71% which seems low compared to all these 90 + scores being floated about. If I do get through to the sift, will my application by taken on board or is it just the scores that are used? It's just I feel my application (hopefully) is stronger
    Many thanks

Assuming 1000 applicants you would be in the top 290 who took the test. Assuming 3000 applicants then you would be in the top 870 who took the test.

The test is used to determine who gets sifted so they will decide a cut off point based on the estimated time it will take to sift x amount of applications and so it will matter how many applicants there were as this will determine how many people got 71% or higher comparatively (in your case).

Realistically if you got between 50-65% on the test for a London District I would doubt it would progress to the sifting stage.

As far as I know the test scores don't count once you get into the competency sift, but perhaps they will effect the weighting of positions of candidates if you were successful and they build the merit/waiting lists.

Really there is no way to know, personally I would suspect the cut off threshold to be somewhere in the region of 70-80% (based on experiences in previous exercises)

Having said that I knew one exercise (for a higher grade and only 10 jobs) that the pass was raised to 95%.

Ive posted the same questions in the other thread, not sure if id get an answer though so ill try here as well.

Those that sat the test twice, were the questions the same both times? Surely to make it fair like the old paper tests everybody would be asked the same questions, is that so online?

Also is each areas questions the same? i.e Yorkshires the same as Londons, or are these different also.
