Are DWP really recruiting? Speaking to staff at my Job Centre, all those employed by DWP have been given their notice and told to reapply for their jobs. They have to loose 20% of their staff due to cuts, unsure how much money they have to save.0

hi
quick question; where do you get the Working Locations form from?

I wouldn't think so, not now they've got the online test. I think that took too lob last time an so it should be straight to interview after this stage. Then comes the long wait of the merit list and the crb check etc!!!0 -

Over the past 12 months the DWP lost about 14,000 staff of the 17,000 staff they recruited in 2009 because of the argument that unemployment would continue to fall. Instead it went in the opposite direction and rose.
So they are making a few thousand FTA's permanent and now need to replace many of the FTA staff who were let go when their contracts ended.
At my old office there were 23% of staff on FTA contracts and everyone went. Silly really given that they now plan to recruit again and will need train new staff.0 -
Well my wife has just rang me to tell me she couldnt even attempt the test, it crashed on her over 2 hours ago. She rang the help number that came up, they said they restart the test within the hour, shes still waiting and now cant get through. Shes at work at 4pm.
System overload or just a case of poor I.T dept in the DWP.

The test is a standard test used across the Civil Service, be it MOD, DWP, SFA, etc etc - no real relation to the advertised job, it's just a tool to select "the right kind of people" for interview as such.0 -

I think it's a bit pig headed how people are complaining that a score of 84% isn't good enough. The fact is that if all the people who have posted on this forum are all from Newcastle for example and have all got 80+% then you should be worried lol that is if you applied for the same region and you got a score "considerably" lower.
If you applied for Yorkshire where the average may only be 64% and you scored 71% applying for that region you should be good. The question what people should be asking is which areas people have applied to..... So guys what were your scores and which areas have you applied to lol??
P.S any ideas on how long will it take for the dwp to get back to you in regards to success to an interview???0
