I would be interested to know the scores of others marked in Birm today. I don't really want to go there to far to travel but I hope it doesn't affect my other areas.

I received my scores from Brum today.

    I scored 4, 5, 4, 5, 5.

Non of my other scores are in yet but must be some kind of record getting 5 x 1 for all competancies. I may as well have left them all blank. And this from a dept that employs me? I'm not in work until next Wednesday but I will be having a word

Are they what you expected? Seems like you will have a fair chance! :)

It's baffling, isn't it. My line manager has suggested waiting until we get the rejection email before deciding what to do next. I know one thing though, it hasn't been done with any sort of logic.

Our union rep was making noise before we applied about their being a limited number of jobs for external candidates, with most being filled by priority and surplus. I ignored him at the time as he always seems to bring bad news and its usually (more than) a bit biased, but I am beginning to wonder....

been on hold for 17 mins trying to get through to the recruitment line...

    Got through at last!!

lady on the phone said they are HOPING to be finished the scoring over the weekend and will send out e-mails for interviews or rejections WC 20th of FEB, she also said that only internal people had been invited for interview so far and that no external candidates will have been e-mailed about it yet!!

    Confused.com

Well, that isn't correct. I am external and I have an interview booked but no knowledge of the scores re. the application form.

Well, I've sent my suggestion letter off. :)

That's me done and dusted. I wish the rest of you all the very best in your applications. Be nice to me if I ever happen to sign on and happen to be sitting in front of you: I'm one of the nice signees. :P

Good luck - hope things go well! xx

Best of luck to you too. Really sorry it didn't work out for you.
  • I know it may seem a bit far fetched but the best thing would be to complain direct to the DWP Minister at his Department address in London- furthermore if you do it through your local MP the Minister has to respond back, if enough people complain about the process he will have to take note - this was a national recruitment and not down to individual districts. If you really are unhappy with the way the process has been managed I would suggest complaining to your local MP, if you complain via the email link they are providing nothing will get done. It will take a few minutes to complain through your MP, a lot less time than it has taken you to write your competencies.

To be honest this is really vague. You haven't given a specific example of how you've actually helped one or a group of customers, it's more just vague buzz words about treating customers well and sounds like you're just saying things they want to hear. You need to say what you actually did in one situation and the only place you've really done that is when you sought out colleagues. The rest is just padded out with how you think that makes the customer feel and why treating them well is a good thing. It's kind of stating the obvious.

Sorry if that sounds really blunt. I would go back and think of a specific example and say what exactly you did. 'I took the customer to the product, I advised my colleagues of the importance of taking them to it, I suggested to management that staff should be reminded this is good customer service...' etc.

    Hi MarkyMark
I sent you a pm to ask you something but it's not showing in my 'sent' folder. Can you let me know if you got it please? Thanks
  • Still waiting for the Hastings area. Anyone had sift feedback yet?
