DWP recruitment processes are underpinned by the principle of selection for appointment on merit on the basis of fair and open competition as outlined in the Civil Service Commission Recruitment Principles ( I m not allowed to post the links as a newbie)
If you feel your application has not been treated in accordance with the Code and you wish to make a complaint, you should contact the person responsible for the recruitment exercise in the first instance.
If you are not satisfied with the response you receive from DWP, you can contact the Office of the Civil Service Commision
I am not allowed to put the links grrr but it can be found by going to DWP website About DWP - Working for DWP - How to apply - Recruitment standars and policies
Hope nobody needs too though
Thanks for that but that seems to be where you have been offered an interview and then believe the job has gone to someone not as qualified - can't seem to see how to appeal against how competencies have been marked in the first place, or is it just me? :huh:0 -

Have you had your scores yet? Done any housework? :rotfl:
It's nice that you want to apologise halt but you could do that in a PM without giving your phone number.
Gave up on the housework. I'm down the pub ordering dinner and tasting the cider. May taste it again in a bit lol. Don't know if it's a good thing they have wifi so still constantly checking forum and if results have come nothing yet but wish you could see me with a child either side all texting. Oh the art of conversation0 -

Thank you so much. That is really useful. Have had a quick look at the info on the CS Commission website and they say that I have to contact the recruiter [DWP/JCP] first. I have done this so I guess it's a waiting game...
Just to add: the recruitment principles mention 'fair' marking. and the guidelines say 'If you feel your application has not been treated in accordance with the Code...'
I might be wrong but I do hope that the competency marking would be covered??0 -

Thanks redsky!I'm really chuffed that the job hunt is over, it's great to know I'll be able to pay my rent and bills and now have something productive to do with my days, a feeling I hope you'll all be experiencing very soon. Funnily enough, I used my DWP competencies in my interview and was offered the job so it'll be interesting to see how the DWP rate them!

Don't be sad, thanks for the information!
I'm going to wait until I've been marked for both areas before attempting to appeal. If I get rubbish scores in both then obviously my competencies are just rubbish!:o However if I get enough in the other area to get through to interview, then I want to know why.:)0 -
Has anyone here applied for SE Wales? I've had my test results (95% woo-hoo) and my competencies back (6,5,6,6,7) but heard nothing since. I hope they're quicker than last recruitment, it was around 6 months from application to employment then for me!
Incidentally, and sorry if it's dragging up an old conversation but I don't have the time to read all the way back in the thread, how do people allege that there may have been cheating on the test? I can't work out how it's possible to cheat? Not that I would have done, but from a purely scientific point of view, how could it be done????
Good luck everyone, hopefully we'll start hearing of some interviews soon.£2012 in 2012 - £13810 -

It's quite simple... If you think about it you will probably figure it out yourself.
I don't think anyone should give that answer out recklessly, the less people who know the better.
With a few cookies, internet caches and ip logs the DWP could really reduce the amount of cheating quite easily, except for the few IT savvy who can bypass all that.0 -
Well the only method I can think of would be keep redoing it until you get the 'right' answers, but I don't even know if that's possible. Oh well, guess I'll have to live with confusion!!£2012 in 2012 - £13810
