DWP don't work on logic this forum must have shown you that by now. Logic would have been to save tax payers money and offer the last lot of fta staff their job back before recruiting again but they didn't do that. TDA can last a day a week or months but trust me when they don't need TDA's anymore they get put back to their original grade

There was a decision made that offering jobs to FTA staff that had previously left the Dept would be seen as unfair to other candidates.

Therefore only the FTA staff currently working for the Dept would be offered permanent posts as part of the recruitment.

Yes, I was FTA AO grade previously and would have loved to have been kept on, but hey ho. Sorry, should have said, my friend was given to believe that TDA would be long term. She was wary because of possibility of being kicked back quickly, but they told her they desperately need more internal EO's long term???? I know this doesn't affect the amount of posts the external applicants are applying for.

Do you know if unsuccessful on my EO app, what I would have to go through to later apply for Band B?? Previous process was so much easier.
I hope your friend does get TDA for a while but as long as she accepts it for what it is then go for it. Your second question about applying for the band b jobs I would have thought you wouldn't have to do the test again as you have one already that is within 6 months. If you go through the link on the vacancy details for the EO recruitment you will find the competancies for AO as this is an admin role they will differ from the EO ones
  • Hey Folks!

Another newbie here! Has anybody who has applied for staffs/shrops area received their competency scores yet?

I don't know if I have got an interview yet but I have been looking on the website for questions asked at previous EO recruitments and I wondered how you know what question applies to which competency as the interviewers don't seem to state which competency they are
    referring to !!

If it isn't obvious from the question (though it probably will be) don't worry too much. Just make sure you have a couple of examples from each competency to discuss and focus on answering to the best of your ability. You will probably find that many of your examples will be relevant to more than one competency, so don't stress - trust your own judgement and you will be fine.:D

yes I know this I was just making a point. Thing is some of us never left the dept. Anyway it is what it is just the first time I have had to apply for the same job twice.

    Fair enough.

If anyone wants any advice on the interview process, let me know.

I did a whole week of interviewing in the last recruitment.

    No not yet

WOW Mark, not many people feeling the love for you today.... almost on the verge of cyber bullying
Intentional or not, try not take any of it on board. Rise above it. I think you have done really well and should be congratulated on your high score ( Im just glad Im not up against you in Glasgow haha ).

Anyways, moral of the story is, everyone whether they believe someone or not should treat everyone fairly. Innocent until proven guilty and all that Jazz!!

I would be very very pleased with myself if I had achieved 8s or 9s, so hold your head high and be proud of your achievement, if anything you have proved to me that those scores can be achieved, before your post I didnt think those scores were possible. So very well done indeed!!

Please keep us posted on when you hear back about an interview etc..... :D
