DWP Recruiting Again - 2012

Mark..if you still have to edit the comptenecy (securing 9) and planned not to paste it online..Then its OK. You said you offered help..how???
Well, I believed your scores on your first post, later on you lost your temper on Sammy's comments, now I think....WHATEVER!!!
But one thing for all of us DWP does not want temperamental emplyees. Even if one has no natural flair to deal with other people and gets into this kinda job, its going to be like a living hell.So only people with calm head and thick skins are going to have great time with this job.:j
True, but I once knew someone who worked there who personified temperamental. I mean really. At work too. That was many moons ago, however.0 -
Two monkeys in the bath.
One says "Ooooh Ooooh Aaaaah Aaaaah"
The other one says "Put some cold in then!"
Nothing to do with the DWP jobs, just wanted to lighten the mood a bit. Remember guys, if we get through, we might be working with each other......0 -
100 positions per location, but I'm an existing civil servant, not DWP.
It was a full external application process, they only know we're civil servants as it affects things like salaries and leave allocation if we were to be successful... (ie, someone in my office on a level transfer would be paid more than the advertised starting salary).
No preference, as far as I know, towards internal candidates: if there was, I would have been able to apply for it before you did as internal/secondment, but I couldn't, so I have to assume that they're looking at all applications on merit
So 10o folks in my office have applied, but so have loads in the office over the road, loads of external candidates, the world, and his wife I would assume.
You've got just as much of a shot as anyone else
I agree with you as I am also a CS. If this was an internal vacancy recruitment we would not be applying externally for promotion and the vacancies would not have been advertised externally. There were a few areas filled internally think Cumbria was one that they knew could be filled without advertising that's why it wasn't an area on the vacancy list. I was fta EO from the last recruitment back to AO for the last 12 months. If internal staff were getting priority why then am I and other fta demoted staff having to apply for a job I have done already and passed the test for and been interviewed for. I have been a civil servant 18 years as AA,AO,EO then AO again and have never been promoted from within always externally. So I don't want any "external" applicants to think we have a better chance because we don't. Anyway end of rant. Still waiting for comp results. Going mad waiting sure I didn't have this week off work just to check comps and read forum but like everyone else this has taken over my life till I hear something.0 -
Merseyside was also only for existing civil servants, but it is no further forward than my external applications :eek:0

I have a friend who is long serving AO at JobCentre, she applied and got kicked out at the situation test stage. But has now been told to apply for temporary upgrading to EO (TDA) as she is almost guaranteed to get it??? Perhaps they didn't get enough EO's out of existing staff through application process - still, if they get their internal EO's this way, it will free up more Band B posts later. I am still waiting on competency sifts for East and North London, like you all, tearing hair out and chewing non existant nails.:rotfl:0

I haven't done anything to help. I offered and got abused for being arrogant. I could force my advice on people but that might be REALLY arrogant!
I don't know what you mean by 'whatever'. You don't believe my score? I don't care. I did well and I didn't cry when i got 73% in the online test and I didn't abuse anyone who did better.
I probably won't post here again since it all seems so bitter. So much for being extra nice to the newbie eh ;-) Good luck to everyone.0 -

TDA is a temp promotion. Once the area has enough EO's from the recruitment any TDA's will go back to their substantive grade.0 -
Has anyone else had sift scores back for west yorkshire yet, keep checking mine nothing there yet0

mmmmm, why would they be looking for TDA's now when expecting to get new recruits, just to put the TDA's back again so quickly?? No logic there, as the TDA's still have to go through a process, which takes time.0
